[page error] Site Outage ... aka ... Hamsters On Spring Brea
One of our servers was offline for a bit of time today causing quite a few issues. We are up and running but we still need to sort through the server parsing IMAGES.
For now there will be an issue with IMAGES loading. You will either see a borked image or ... a blank box.
We hope to have the hamsters rounded up image issues resolved by the end of the day.
hmm. i see its coming back to normal but somehow im following this topic but never even viewed it im guessing that this was done as an informal method or is it a bug ? edit: perhaps i did post in this topic but its not showing yet probably because the database is not 100% as of yet.
I was gone today and not using the computer. Got home a little while ago and clicked on my open tab to my post list and proceeded to scratch my head. It shows I posted in threads I don't recall reading, much less posting in, and shows, like you, zero posts for the last three days. I was puzzled until I notice the Announcement at the top of every page here had changed since last evening. My posts from the last three days are there in the forums (well I could only check one thread because the site is giving too many 504 errors) but just not in Postlist.
The site is extremely slow also. I'm not sure the slowness is dslreports or something else as I could not load any Mozilla News Group posts a few minutes ago. I did some speed tests and those were fine.
Anyhow, the site is lookin' a lot better now. I'm sure the final glitches will get worked out soon.

Since didn't see either a borked image or blank box when trying to upload an image in A&G will post the error message received if it will be any help: Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I'm sure glad the Recent announcement says: "Please have patience while any lingering glitches from data recovery are worked out."
Heck, I've got posts under my "votes" link that don't even belong to me. lol. Hey, no matter, I'll take other peoples votes and user names if I can get away with it. Lost 2 very much valued "Kudos" as well. (At least I got my original and first one back). But hey, that's just the way it is sometimes. The site giveth, and the site taketh away.
In all fairness, it has to be a daunting task to be merging "new/old data", with "old/new data", along with a splash of "new/new" data. (Not to mention a bunch of other "stuff"). Um, well, you know what I mean, even if I don't. Major kudos to Justin and whoever else is behind the scenes trying to straighten this mess out. (Better them than me!). Thank you for dealing with what I'm sure has been a HUGE headache...(to put it mildly).
Oh, and just one more thing.....when all of this is finally "fixed"? DON'T let it happen again! lol.
