Yes... on the previous version that feature as you describe it would only work intermittently. It would usually force you to start from the beginning instead of offering you the chance to "resume," particularly on another box in another room. Hopefully this version has corrected all the issues that caused it to be so flaky. |

A roll that quickly would probably cause too many call center calls, and we all know how good the call centers are and how you never have to wait on hold (not). I think the deployment will be pretty fast this time compared with 1.9, 1.9a. |

Actually this is a problem for ALL VOD. (Flexview, pay, free, subscription, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.. ) Not only very annoying, but also a complete waste of bandwidth as the slow 'fast' forwarding through the same movie 5 or more times just to finish it means the damn thing is streamed that many times.
Hopefully this fixed this lack of functionality as well as the fact that we could no longer FF at speeds of 3x, 4x, or more. |

The new guide colors look so much better than 1.9. I hated the new colors, couldn't easily figure out what the selected show was.
I do agree they should have themes though. People see colors differently. I, for one, am both red/green and blue/yellow colorblind. No, that doesn't mean I see in back and white. But it does mean that most blues (including things like purple) look the same. Seems themes and/or customized themes would be a smart choice. Allow us to choose a these online in myverizon.com and have it downloaded to the STB. That way users could create and share their own! |

I'm on the slow spin, and my SD box has the new 1.9.1, but my HD box somehow still is on 1.9.
Anyone know or has a contact I can forward this issue to so that my main HD box can get pushed?
thanks! |

1.9.1 Build 14.47 Bug Fixes 1. The buffer would be lost on the 7232 and you could not use trick play such as rewind or fast forward on Live TV after idle period 2. 7232 reboots and resets 3. Video jigger, jitter, or strobe effect (Im not sure this is 100% fixed but it is close) 4. New color change to address: Consistency, Contrast, Brightness, and overall readability 5. Cast is shown at the first Info button press on Recordings (Plan is to possibly remove second button press for Full Info and just have it on the first button press) 6. Corrected different channel than the one punched in when using modes such as Subscribed 7. Search would sometimes show some other program in the final screen 8. Interactive Icon would freeze DVR and stop it from recording 9. Fixed pillar bars / loss of video on SD TV 10. Time line issue going back to zero when viewing a recording 11. Time line bar time stuck at end when viewing a recording 12. When viewing a recording. Skip and FF cause the recording to advance to the end and the options screen is presented. Caused by inserted commercials 13. 7232 & 7100 will become unresponsive to any key presses then eventually execute all the "stored up" key presses. 14. eSATA video playback anomalies such as pixilation and freezing that does not occur on the original live feed 15. Pause locks up when a scheduled program starts to record on the other tuner 16. When you press the Favorites button on the 2500-3, the current channel highlighted in the guide is not the one you are tuned to 17. DVR playback freezes (where trick plays dont work unless you pause, and once you pause youre stuck until soft off / on) 18. Progress indicator returns to zero on inserted commercials during recordings 19. Paused VOD + UI launch results in stuck scaled video
1.9.1 Build 14.47 New Features: 1. Air Date added to View Schedule 2. DVR xx% Full Internal - DVR xx% Full External added to non DVR (7100) 3. Added Cast in recordings program detail 4. Cast wraps on non-recorded programs eliminating
5. Added Live in the guide 6. New color change to address: Consistency, Contrast, Brightness, and overall readability 7. Icons uniform across screens/menus 8. Info Bar user selectable duration for channel changing and when Info is pressed. Info Bar Timeout = 2s, 4s, 8s, 10s, 15s. Channel Bar Timeout = 0s, 4s, 8s, 10s, 15s. 9. Series recordings and eSATA recordings on web will be available once 1.9.1 is fully deployed 10. Last button for DVR : Last button toggles between a live channel and a recording and so on. Like this one a lot. I can watch a recording. Type in a channel number and then hit Last and go back the recording. 11. Active notification for activity that would affect TV viewing and DVR recordings 12. Two simultaneous HD MRDVR streams from 7xxx DVRs 13. Clock Channel Display LED Brightness : High / Normal / Low 14. Ability to delete all Recent Deletes as well as the prior, individually 15. 7100 STB - Select a program to record and it will only show the DVR that can record without conflict. If there is a conflict then the program will set the reminder on the 7100 16. Auto Power Off will turn the box off after a user selectable time: Never, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours 17. Updated Parental Control features 18. Fast forward to the end of a recording will play so that the end of the program can be seen without being missed. Play or Skip will take the recording to end. This is back from IMG 1.8 19. Program Options screen will always present from a non DVR giving the choice to Keep or Delete the just viewed recording 20. DVR - Select a program to record and it will only record on the DVR that can record without conflict. If there is a conflict then the program will set the reminder on the DVR. So yes, this will look at your DVRs and determine the one it can record on. 21. DVR Export to the Cloud - Export Series Recordings list to a Verizon Server. This will allows importing of Series Recordings list to a replacement DVR. Import will show up when you get a new DVR 22. Program Information Screen on Recordings will indicate "Upcoming Shows" for the exact same program. "More Like This" may show as well on Movies. 23. IR remote - Response has been tweaked so that there is less need to point directly at the STB. Also button presses in general on the IMG are much more responsive. 24. Parental Controls. There is now a Control VOD Sharing and Control DVR Sharing. Both allow or hide remote content. This probably also ties into #2 below. 25. Reminder and Recording warning now appear 2 minutes prior to program start 26.
Unconfirmed 1. DCT700 channel change performance (skips) 2. From (0100010 on the Vz forum) Parental Controls - Advanced : there are now options for VOD and DVR sharing. After playing with them - it prevents parentally blocked content from appearing in either the VOD My Library or the (MR)DVR lists - very cool. If I order an R rated VOD movie in my bedroom, it no longer appears under My Library in my sons room, since his set top has parental controls blocking that rating (in 1.9 it would be in the list, but he couldn't watch it since he needed the PIN, now in 1.9.1 it doesn't even show in the list.) 3.
I have not had a chance to fully test every new feature or confirm every bug fix on my 7232's and 7100. If anything is wrong, confirmed, or needs updating I will fix the list.

Nascar,
Many thanks for taking the time to list the changes and new features.
I have one question related to #3 in the unconfirmed section.
Is there the ability to decide on which DVR to record a show from another DVR, even assuming no conflict (similar to how you can now do it from a non-DVR STB)?
For example, I am sitting in the den, which is where the MRDVR is, and I want to set up something to record on the bedroom DVR while there is no conflict on either. Is this now possible?
Thanks again. |

And yes - all of the video hiccups are gone (at least from the 2 days I've had 1.9.1). That actually doesn't look that bad! I was afraid it'd go back to an ugly pre-1.9 style design!! There is one feature I miss from our DishNetwork days, and while I doubt it'd be that hard to implement, I doubt they would as it'd add confusion. Dish, like Verizon would stream the SD and HD feeds to seperate channels, EX: 122 and 1522 (They used 1000 for HD, idk why). But dish's software would remap it, so for a channel that had both SD and HDD you'd see something like this: » slidestudios.com/blog/wp ··· uide.jpgIt would down-map (their term), the HD channels to the same #s as the SD channels, so channels with both feeds would be listed twice with an HD next to one of them. This made it alot easier to go thru the guide IMO as you could go thru ALL the channels by starting at 0, and not have to mess with favorites lists and what not to organize the guide. |

I while back I believe it was nycDave who stated that completely removing a DVR from the MRDVR sharing would be in 1.9.1. Is it, or just the mask recordings in the list via parental controls? |

I am now getting skips and jumps on 902. I never noticed any sound or video glitches with 1.9. I don't know if my 902 issue is just something with 902 today or what. |

Info Bar - Display Time & Info Bar - Channel Change Nascar, I wish the colors on my 1.9.1 IMG were like this. What I have is much grayer. My Panasonic Plasma is calibrated and all colors from all source (STB programming, Bluray, etc.) are good. Also, the menu choices are not worded like this. You "Infor Bar - Channel Change" is "Channel Bar Timeout" and your Info Bar - Display Time" is "Info Bar Time Out." Are your screen shots from a production rollout of 1.9.1? Is it possilbe they "grayed" down the colors? Although the menus, etc. are grayer, it's most revealing on the info bar. Thoughts? |

I think that would be a great idea. Or at least allow users to sort by channel name. I pretty much ignore anything below 500 because it's so annoying to watch SD on a plasma screen (probably LED also, just never really tried b/c I find plasma far superior to LED.)
But if we had an feature like the one discussed or the ability to sort by channel name, so we can see SD and HD channels with each other, I may deal with SD for some shows. |

Is VHO 5 NYC? If so, don't count on getting it before 2014. VZN doesn't like NYC, probably part of why they stopped the FiOS rollout long before they finished. Out of everyone I know in the 5 buroughs, less than 10% have FiOS as an option and of those who don't 100% would switch if it meant they could get rid of TWC or Cablevision, both of which have inferior products, higher prices, and as unimaginable as it is, far worse customer service. So VZN is losing a huge customer base by giving up on FiOS. |

All I know is Vz was hit with a S*%T Storm on how the 1.9 colors looked bad and the contrast was bad and the fonts were bad and it could not be read. This does not go for everyone and of course some liked 1.9's colors. So Vz listened and tried to make the colors better in hopes the content is more readable. Will everyone be happy, no. At least Vz listens and does what they can. When I had Comcrap, they couldn't care less what you, nor I thought. said by PJL:Thanks for confirming that the colors got grayer. It looks like you can only record on the DVR you are on. The enhancement is that if the DVR you are on cannot accommodate the third recording it will look to any other DVR and offer to record it there. It has more smarts to only offer where space is available. I would like, as you say, the ability up front to select the DVR regardless of conflict. said by jr461:Nascar,

Well free is all relative. We do pay a high price for the ultimate package. I'd love to downgrade, but there are some channels in the Ultimate and not the Extreme that I do watch. Funny thing is, a couple of those channels are in the Prime. They just left them out of the Extreme for some reason.
And are you telling me the Ultimate package is ONLY offered in NYC? |
