it depended on the length of the music I wanted to record... sometimes a tape with 45 minutes on each side worked better, sometimes a tape with 30 minutes on each side worked better.

both of my cars are still cassette equipped, but I tend to use one of those cassette/iPod adapters quite a bit

Hence, thinner. Was this you out shopping?

You used 60s to record lectures or other stuff that would be rewound/replayed/fast forwarded through, or recorded-over a lot. The tape in 60s is thicker than 90s so it wasn't as prone to breaking from the stress. You should have known that from always playing your Osmonds and Jackson 5 album tapes backward.

They don't know now, much less the future.

Ask the question, "what do these two items have in common?", and you'll get a blank look.

In reality, I doubt that most have ever seen the first item, and as for the second, they rarely use those either.

Hey, all of the local sportscasters this week were thrown off by the Redskins coach calling our QB "Cool Hand Luke." Not only did they not who who it was, several said they didn't know who Paul Newman was.

You look like you're still hungover. Haven't your morning Bloody Marys kicked in yet?

Have very bad news. Left work late Wednesday night and the liquor stores were closed. No vodka so no Bloody Marys.

Bloody Maria, then?

I was called in to work Thursday and on the way home drove by couple of liquor stores just to see if they were open. They were closed.

OMFG! [putting on pearls to clutch them in horror]

Down here in the District, liquor stores may open on holidays (except Sundays, owner's discretion; the liquor store across the street from me was open yesterday). Beer and wine is also available in supermarkets 7 days a week. It's only a matter of time before DC also allows liquor stores to sell on Sundays (Virginia, and Montgomery, Charles, St. Mary's counties in Maryland allow Sunday sales).

We stocked up on Svedka last week...Nick's down in Waldorf had the 1.75L for $15.99.
