I was in north Jersey the week before this all started. In retrospect, I should have stopped by NAC and offered to test their backup systems.  |

If I where Justin, I'd be pissed at the NAC. Loss of power, and loss of UPS. And them yanking the HDs without a "proper shutdown" (ASSUMING they where hot swappable) resulting in thousands of dollars for work to be done. |

This is a partial repost of something I said in another thread, but if I were Justin, I would have retained counsel and sued NAC for costs, damages and lost revenue, plus punitive damages for wanton neglect and false representation of services. What they did is simply unconscionable. |

You'd have to scrutinize the contract that justin has with NAC, but I think it's pretty safe to say that NAC breached somewhere in there with this meltdown that will cost thousands to fix. If nothing else, this should be as public as possible so the court of public opinion decides the value of NAC's services appropriately. |

Absolutely.
I think their other customers and potential customers should have a right to know if they just don't give a rat's white whisker about backups, backup power and equipment maintenance [not to mention the technical knowledge and/or competence of their datacenter employees]. |

Yea it makes me look bad. They give me like 8-12 hours of work a week max so if I don't goof off it's hard to stretch it into 40 hours. No forums means I get it done faster then my boss knows I have nothing to do! |

Nice hopefully he knows. We'll be going up to Maine as well in July. We have a cabin in St. Albans, ME. Not sure how far it is from the highway to Boothbay but we might check out your restaurant. |

I don't know if PMs work now, but try to send your e-mail addy and some basic info. How many people, ages, what you want for accommodations, activities, etc. I'll try to help. I have a lovely beach room @ $375 a night (weekends, holiday) but I can do $125 for an off-season standard room. Beach. I can help you find a good place for less. Or more. I took the bumpy road to Boothbat Hahbah a few years ago and missed Dominocat by an hour. The Waitrons had nothing but praise and the seafood stuffing made by him was TOP-END! |
