Not looking forward to it, was enjoying this mild winter. Look on the bright side, we got 3 more months left of winter weather.

Saw some flurries today while at work (near downtown, united center area) and got excited. I can't wait for the large flurries to start comin' down. Love it when it snows.

I guess it depends who you watch or listen to. The lady on Ch 7 isn't calling for more than three inches (up here, lesser amounts south), but the WGN dude this morning is saying there is a potential to receive more than five inches.

High winds, snow and a wintry chill hit mid and late afternoon into Thursday night. Snow may grow heavy for a period of time toward and just beyond dark. Gusty east to southeast winds through midday, shifting northwest and strengthening later in the afternoon afternoon to 20 to 45 mph with gusts topping 50 mph. Rain changes to snow first in the northwest suburbs, then reaching the city mid/ late afternoon. Periods of heavy, wind-driven snow may fly during the evening rush hour and into Thursday night. Temps fall from mid 40s (upper 40s south suburbs) to the upper 20s and low 30s by nightfall. Accumulating snow falls over a 6 to 10 hour period. 2 to 4 inches possible city tapering to 1 or 2 inches south. More than 6" northwest toward McHenry and Boone counties into Rockford and southern Wisconsin.

Just looked at what Madison is in form (same system effecting us)... 12-18 inches of snow, thunderstorm and rates up to 3"/hour.

I think some winds and a few inches of snow are juusstttt fine compared to that.

Also hopefully none of you are flying tomorrow. The first snow storm is always a mess for airports as they get used to new procedures, equipment and employees. I just hope the wait time to get deiced is less than 45 minutes...

Going to be bleeping nasty out here in the land of corn! Looks like DeKalb County is right in the bulls eye too!

Tried to get the boss to let me to work at home tomorrow but it was a no go. Doesn't help that she lives in Phoenix.

it's coming. I just started up the snow blower this morning to make sure it ran. I was getting flustered when it wouldn't run. Then I realized I had the spark plug wire off. Put it on and first pull came to life.

It's heeerrrrre! Just started snowing a little while ago.

Ended up taking the afternoon off so I could get ahead of the weather. It's better that I should take time off and for sure not be productive than risk letting me work at home and be slightly less productive.

It's not the snow I worry about, but the wind. With a west-facing bedroom, I probably will not get much sleep tonight...

Still just raining and not much else going on here.

Just after posting this I look outside and it's snowing like mad.

Yeah, the wind is pretty bad. Only briefly hit the 55mph they were predicting though. I was waiting for my patio door to blow in or shatter!

Less than an inch of snow however, and at least according to the Rockford forecast it's about over. Can see on the radar the edge of the system is just west of I-39 right now. Still it's enough to create white out conditions in open areas.

Same here. Its windy, but it looks like it has stopped snowing.
Looking out at the front yard, it looks like we just got a little more then a dusting on the grass and the cars. The driveway, street, and sidewalk are wet and have little to no snow on them.

Same here, not much snow ... I'm going to crash now and I have
a feeling there gonna be more snow when I wake up ... I'm been looking at the radar and it still doesn't look good.
