Seems logical, Captain, and I do believe that someone else has presented the same hypothesis last night - I forget who or where - our posts are so scattered lately - IRC, Tweetland, other forums....

Those are recovered accounts, they have random text behind them to avoid name duplicates. |

Makes sense.
BTW, it was said that all user accounts/reviews have been recovered already. However my reviews are still not updated, in fact everything is still from the old backup except the post count/level.
Is the rest of it gonna appear after the data migration later on tonight?

Good luck on a smooth data re-integration. Having done a few small scale restores that involved re-integrated data, I can say that it can be nerve wracking to watch the work and wondering "Will this work right?"

Considering this site's management had not yet taken the Backup 101 course and got caught with their pants down with almost a month of downtime, it is interesting that they can state in such a derogative way that they are sure they don't have some sort of automated firewall on their site.
And if people think I don't know the difference between a routing issue and a single IP not being able to access a site, then the level of discussion here is far lower than I had thought.
Instead of "welcome back" I got something else. I get the message. |
