Re: Mediacom To Start Charging For Phone Modem When I turned this Mediacom Modem/Router into a bridge as you suggested it was not compatible with my Apple Airport Router. It caused delayed responses from DNS servers and other problems to the point that I had to return it to Mediacom.
I wouldn't bank on this working with every wireless router. Mediacom and Apple tech support told me that simply turning the WiFi radio off and making this Modem/Router into a bridge would not be a guaranteed workable method of use. In my case with my Apple router it was a failure.
I would also add that the signal coverage of the wireless router on the current Cisco Modem/Router being used by Mediacom is not nearly as good as the coverage I get out of my Apple Wireless Router. This also made the Mediacom equipment unuseable in my house because my home is too large for the coverage acheivable with the Mediacom ROuter/Modem.
This equipment may work fine for some but if you have a large home or have to try and use it as a bridge be cautious. |
