im not exactly sure what information im looking for but i need to know how i could get my own internet for relatively cheap (cheap as in not starting my own isp) without being under the control of the big isp's like verizon which im under now. basically i dont want to be raped by the big isp's when they start watching for people on their network for piracy downloading in july. so i read a few things about this sort of thing and i figured i could run my own server from a old desktop i have with red hat linux on it. but i want to know the specifics as far as everything i would need. thanks.
