[Speed] Packet loss and bad ping spikes!

Okay everyone I will try to explain my problems the best I can. Sorry but it will be long. About 6 -7 months ago, I started experiencing bad lag while playing xbox. I called Comcast and explained to them that the lag was horrible (skipping all over the place). They sent a tech out who told me everything was fine but I showed him the skipping. He left without fixing anything. I called back the next day and had the same results. A tech came out and said everything was fine. After arguing with him for an hour he left. The next day his sup came out and I explained to him nothing was fixed and I was still having problems. They just ran speed tests which of course showed nothing. When I would run the test through pingtest.net though through the closest server to me it showed my speeds wouldn't go higher than 10mbps. ONLY TO THAT SERVER. The techs said it was probably just the server. Him and another tech told me they couldn't find anything wrong. So, I called Xbox live support thinking maybe it could be my xbox. The guy had me run a ping test (which I had no idea how to do before). Turns out I was losing packets. About 5 -6 every 200 pings or so. They would come in groups when it happened. So I got Comcast back out and showed them (why did I have to show them that in the first place). After many techs and maintenance visits they finally changed something at my drop. That fixed it for a week or so. After the week my pings started to spike horribly. Only when I pinged certain websites though. Oh yeah, after they fixed it my speed tests for that server on speedtest.net were back up to the 50 -60 mbps like they should have been. I had the extreme package which is 50 down and 10 up. Well for the past like 5 months I am still spiking really bad when I ping Yahoo.com. It seems to be the most accurate. My pings are going from 20 or so up to sometimes 200. It is NOT the yahoo server because I switched to ATT briefly and the pings never changed for any website. ATT only offers 6 down in my area so the speeds are too slow for me. My speeds on the ping tests also change according to the ttl. I will do back to back tests and when the ttl is 50 they will stay constantly in the 20's. Sometimes they are in the 50's constantly though. When the ttl is 49 the are all over the place. I still can't get anyone from comcast to help or even explain why it is doing this. All I know is on XBOX I still feel the lag very badly. My K/D Ratio used to be 2.7 on MW3. Now I am lucky if I go 20-20. I have had 4 or 5 different modems and had all of my lines checked. I ran some trace routes and told them they are bad but nobody has come out to see what I am seeing. NOBODY will help me from comcast. What do I do? TKS!

I can say for my own experience that Comcast and its network are terrible for most gaming.. high pings, jitter and dropped packets are just the beginning.

A lot is also related to how Comcast routes connections to peers or other tier 1 or 2 providers..

I guess we just have to suffer an inferior network if we want the speed.

I do wish at time for the NOC to be accessible so we users can let them know when the system is faulting so it can be addressed and repaired faster.. but that is a dream.

Yeah but I never had any problems for the year prior. It seems that I only have the problems when my internet is routed a certain direction. Is it possible for a drop or my drop in the backyard to just be bad. The main issue is they keep telling me they can't find anything. I atleast would like for them to send someone out here (who knows how to read trace routes and stuff) to see what I am talking about. They won't even do that.

I am sorry, but without a Line quality - Ping Test, there is little that anyone can suggest. There are other tests as well, but I am not familiar with them.
