[Soft] Lightroom 3.x Archive Workflow

Howdy...

I've got 252GB of photos (after a very cursory purging of duplicate or trash data) and I realize I don't need to keep these photos on my working drive until the end of time. There HAS to be a better "Archival" process that I'm missing.

What do you folks do?

I have an external hard drive connected to my computer with USB. I use this to back up photos regularly. The hard drive connected to the computer is not very big, and when it gets full I empty it and start over. I also have another hard drive to back it up, but only do so once a year. I have older stuff on dvds, but I haven't put stuff on dvds for a couple of years. I also have the stuff on dvds backed up on an external hard drive. On my computer drive I only have photos from 2010 till now.

I have 2010 and older photos on my NAS. One thing, if you want the photos to stay in your catalogue, make sure you move them from within Lightroom.
