Who is boost mobile? What network do they use? |

Boost doesn't roam... if its not a sprint tower or a legacy nextel tower (for the older iden handsets) it doesn't have service.
That model you linked is on the sprint cdma network (and the sprint/clear wimax network). |

said by Jack_in_VA:Who is boost mobile? What network do they use? Boost is one of sprint's pre-paid divisions. It was acquired when they acquired nextel (boost was nextels pre-paid unit). They originally only used the iden network, but over the years since the merger sprint has been selling phones on the cdma network. There are still quite a few iden handsets out there due to the cheap non contract push to talk service... but they should be moving people over to the cdma push to talk eventually (since they want to re-purpose the iden frequencies by 2013). Easy way to tell if the model name has an i in front of the number it's on the iden network (like i475), if it has a fancy marketing type name its cdma (like Marquee). |

One of the big reasons carriers can offer such cheap prepaid service is because of no roaming. |

True... they only ever use their own network to not incur any charges or swaps from the roaming partners. I am not sure the paltry roaming allowance they offer is worth the 2 year contract however |
