Hiccups & Outages Today in Cogeco-Land First, it was occasional 'page not found' errors earlier today, then more than occasional, and then after 7:30 PM tonight, there were two outages which lasted around a couple of minutes each.
The lights on my modem looked normal during this, but all of my PCs lost Internet access on all apps.
I only had about enough time to check what my other PCs were doing, and just as mysteriously, it is OK now.
Was this a START or a Cogeco issue ? |

Confirmed.
Has been happening to me since this morning as well.
Intermittent connection timeouts for a minute or so at a time. |

It's an issue in the Cogeco core with their connection to Toronto. It's being worked on, was corrected around 6pm but then they broke it again at 7:30pm and it's been escalated again. |

I was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong, trying to play Diablo 3 and losing connection frequently was driving me crazy. |

It may have happened again within past 5m. At least I'm no less sane than usual, muahahahaha !!! OR, we're all going berserk together. BTW, originally, I thought that DSLR might be having new problems (click to post or edit and nothing happens), but then my webmail and p2p showed symptoms too. |

Yep happening up here in North Bay too. Thought it was my router.
Start has been great for me, this is the first hiccup I've seen since signing up a month ago. I'm happy that I have an alternative to Cogeco, besides 6M DSL. |

Not that I need to confirm, but yes I got it as well. Thankfully Rocca is here to keep us informed. |

Same problem here. At first I thought it was just Diablo losing connection. Then I thought it was my router.... |

21:50:07 for 118 seconds. We're a little particular about monitoring... Cogeco IP Transport/Engineering teams are working on it. Once it's resolved we'll get an RFO. Rest assured we're on it. |

thx for keeping on it after hours rocca |

Coincidence ? Well, not related to the issue we're seeing, but rumour has it that the Diablo servers are suffering issues of their own. » eu.battle.net/support/en/news |

ya, can't quite get any sc2 in without an insta-loss due to 120s timeout. |

No rest for the wicked. Just got off the phone with Cogeco NOC (despite being hammered with calls, they have very friendly people in that group) The problem is an issue with their ring in Toronto and affecting data circuits out of 151 Front. They've been conferenced in with Cisco for the past couple hours and it continues to be worked on. It's a priority issue for them so they'll work all night to get it fixed if needed. |

159 seconds, at 23:49:37. Believe me, I understand the frustration - I don't want to be on the phone with Cogeco all night either. ...but stuff breaks and they are working on it which is all that can be expected when something breaks. Most of the 2-3 minute outages that have occurred are when they are making configuration changes or trying patches, etc. I'd be more concerned if I didn't see those outages at this point and just the more chronic 6 second ones which would indicate nothing is being done. Cisco's been involved and I'm working with hourly updates. The service has been solid until this afternoon, and after they determine and resolve the root issue it will be solid again, but tonight is probably a write-off for most folks. For that I do apologize, but rest assured we are doing everything we can to ensure a quick resolution and keep everyone advised. Not that it helps anyone affected, but this is affecting all their data IP services originating out of Toronto so there are a lot of unhappy people tonight, not just our customers on the Cogeco network. |

What's the latest? It's been out for quite a while now and I'm running on 3G. |

At 4:34am we were advised the link is stable. We have not seen any packet loss since 3:53am which is an hour now and supports their update. Unfortunately the extra 25ms latency is there at this time. I have asked for an RFO and steps they will be taking to eliminate the extra latency again. |

It was odd. My cogeco business was stable the entire time. My start.ca well not so much. |

But we now have a sequel on our hands ? i.e. ' The RETURN of The Phantom Ping !' Thanks for being there ! |
