What an awesome idea.
you do know that a certifed electric meter cost $150-500+, and then meter base plus certifed installation and grounding add another $800-1000+ PLUS the local inspector charges $200-300, dontcha'?
So ComCast who charges $7 a month for a $150 or less modem, can now add a $200/Mo metering fee...just so they don't overcharge you.

last time i looked on my power bill or water bill i didnt ahve a 200/mo metering fee

you lose

part of the deal is the ISP sucks up the cost of it the meter or they dont get be an ISP

you want to charge like a utility you get treated like one
