1st Tropical Storm of the season spins up near NC

said by WinkNews :

The National Hurricane Center says the first tropical storm of the year, Alberto, has formed off the coast of South Carolina.

Forecasters say the storm has top winds of 45 mph.

"Satellite, radar, and surface data indicate that the small surface low located off the coast of south carolina has acquired the characteristics of a tropical cyclone," the NHC said in its 5pm advisory.

A tropical storm watch could be required for a portion of the coast of the Carolinas this evening.

I'm a lot less apprehensive as a renter, than I was as a homeowner.

As of this morning it's right off the coast from me and here on shore you wouldn't even know it's out there. Not a great deal of moisture in it.

It's been breezy, and cooler than normal, with lower humidity.

I thought the Pic was neat in that you could actually see the low level cyclonic inflow along with the high level anti-cyclonic outflow. With a bigger storm or one that had more moisture in it you would never be able to see that due to cloud cover. When it was shot Alberto was about 120 miles NE of St. Augustine Beach (where the photo was shot).
