50 meg plan can't get 2 megs ip address not pingable?

Hi and thanks to anyone kind enough to help me. I'm lost. I tried to do a line monitor and it won't run. I am on a 50 meg cable plan and I get no help from tech support and the line techs are as useless, I tried a line monitor and it says I'm not pingable who is shows my ip address as something like 69.50.xxx.xxx. Can anyone tell me why this ip address doesn't look right? I'm barely reaching 2 megs, terrible page-lag, and issues bad enough to freeze pingtest.net. Thanks again

Not being pingable is as a result of your firewall - router or software firewall (Windows has one built in). For your router you'll need to log in and go to security and check something like:

respond to ICMP (Ping)

or something like that. Similar in your Windows Firewall as well.

For your speed issues - what are your network signal levels? To find that out you'd go to: »192.168.100.1 and then post that info here.
