If this is a chat session from the VZ website, yes, THEY will FORCE you to DV. If you call into the call center, the reps ARE able to let you stay on FE, generally with LITTLE arm twisting. Be sure you are speaking to a rep IN YOUR STATE, and not one of the dreaded Z reps as they are known (contractors).
