Re: [motherboard] system acting crazy
well the thing is I have to do a windows repair I think and hopefully that works if it does not then I'd have to get a small cheap SATA drive since I'm not formatting those drives in the pc.
I mean I took the old motherboard out and sat it out on a glass table with nothing but a cpu and one stick of memory and it still gave that odd beep sound.

So I restart and I get this like double beep but it can't be a code at least that I know of..
It's like beep-beep-beep hardly any pause between the beeps like a normal bios beep.
What brand BIOS is it (AMI, Phoenix, AWARD)?
Three quick beeps on an AMI BIOS points to a memory issue.
DO NOT try to boot without a heat sink on your CPU, you could fry it.
It's nether of just two beeps or three.. it sounds different from all the other bios beeps from AMI, Phoenix or Award.
And I know about not booting the computer without a heatsink this is the 4th system I have but the C2D handles heat a lot better then say the last AMD Duron I ran without a heatsink.
