I notice as of last week I am now getting full speed on all my torrent no matter what time of day.
I'm on a 5100 SB modem on a 10/1 95GB cap grandfathered connection.
Torrents that I downloaded before I did again just to double check and I now 1.2 Mbps sustained on anything I download in utorrent.
Did rogers make changes to their equipment?
I find the timing for this funny as i'm considering switching to Teksavy so I can use my own purchased modem I won't be touching any of those garbage gateways they are focusing people to use.
yeah I was getting good speeds downloading for the past 6 month and now I find from 5pm till 2am the speeds are chit I'm gathering they are throttling especially if you use p2p torrent client I just downloaded 8GB in like 8minutes right now but when peak time starts I wont even bother cuz it would take like 4 hours @ 200 k's to oppose 8megs
Re: [Extreme] torrent speeds in Mississauga westend
Yes I'm in OTT
maybe your the lucky one but they will throttled Like I said I had great FTP speeds for the last six month and this past week and half been slow has hell like 200k's right now my SPEEDS are good and its 3:51pm here my time in about and hour or so it will drop down and be like 200k's I don't even bother to download cuz it gets me aggravated they say do speed test and they say I'm fine
Speeds tests only make sense if you run them against servers in the same location as the seedbox. If you use the recommended test server (which will be close to you) then the results are useless.
Dabonz
P.S
This the speed before I'm Throttled I can get better but I can live with that
This is the seed Throttled its after 4pm my time not worth Downloading
I know rogers does the throttling I had to deal with it since they started but its odd that it has been totally shut off on my connection probably in my area aswell.
All of my testing has been on torrents I know speed test sites are useless.
reply to Makaveli998 They have definitely stopped traffic shaping and here is some hard evidence of that. Its still active in some areas but in Mississauga and Brampton its off for sure.
It feels nice to saturate my entire connection with p2p.
