 | reply to Dominokat 8 x 5 = 40 Never happens. 10 x 5 = 50 Happy Spring 12 x 7= 84 This again?
65 hour week already Bubba DK!
(Note to people outside of the Food/Beverage/Hospitality biz. On occasion, even in New England, we call each other 'Bubba'. Yes, we're making fun of our "Southern Neighbors". And slavery. And we keep doing it for years because we actually like you. Not like a huge winning lottery ticket wouldn't stop us, but we rather enjoy this. Kinda. And we can call each other "Bubba".)
Enjoy your meal. Enjoy your stay. Please come again.

| reply to Dominokat I dropped one job. The restaurants kitchen and I didn't get along well. It was not laid out well, and was basically a "cluster ****" when it got busy. But, I did get a long great with the staff! I do miss them. I still have the summer job I had for many years at Andrews Harborside But, I picked up some shifts at another YEAR ROUND restaurant that will turn into full time year round when I am able to commit. CHATHAM - Aerial photographs taken this morning by George Breen of Cape Cod Shark Hunters show two great white sharks swimming off Chatham and Orleans - further confirmation of their annual return to the area.
Breen produced the first confirmed great white sighting of the season, photographing a 12-to-15-foot great white prowling close to seals last week in the surf zone near the southern tip of North Beach Island.

| reply to Dominokat I really have to admit. I am VERY disappointed with how this summer has developed. Remember, at the start of the summer. I had TWO jobs. I had planned to give both 30 hours a week. For a total of 60 a week. The job I had for a few years, all but begged me to drop my other job and give them full time plus. I did just that. EPIC FAIL! At best, I am getting 34 hours a week. Talking to the boss about this has become a thorn. He gets defensive, as do I. This is not what I wanted this summer. Not even close. |
|
 | reply to Dominokat I had a plan at the beginning of the summer too...
I fell back to "Over-time whore doing as little real work as possible" though... |

| reply to Dominokat What is it about August that brings out all the "needy" people? Every August nearly every restaurant kitchen here is filled with special requests. We get AT LEAST 8 to 10 people during dinner, wanting us to modify something for them. Very annoying. |

| There is a calendar at work, and a few kitchen staff have wrote on it giving their last day of work. The boss isn't very happy with them at all.So AS A JOKE, I placed my name on the list saying my "last day" is a week from Saturday. He found it this morning and texted me asking what that is about. I told him it was a joke. He was upset said he was about ready to close the place. #jokefail |

I flex some muscle when I have to. I got a raise and took off time to take care of MOM too. I just took off a couple days for family visit.
"Fire me!"
They can't. I run the show at night.
Wear shorts. Get a bonus plan (I get an average weeks pay 4th of July (half season) and 2 weeks at end of season).
Rule the roost DK! |
