By being a college town doesn't mean they'll get the business. College students shop on price. if it's out of what they can afford- they will not get it. And the ones that will and can't afford it- only leave it get disconnected. VZ does NOT want those customers. College students are as iffy as anyone else when getting them to sign up.
All the students have internet and cable TV, you may have been out of college for a while... college kids buy the NFL/NBA/NCAA packages at record rates. Between game systems and secondary services the market is huge.
Also Albany would be an easy wire job, since the city (if you can call it that is all family homes so no special apartment wiring. To top it all off FIOS connections already run through the city to connect suburbs east, west, north and south of the city. In three counties including Albany county.
This is not the greatest post in the world, no, this is just a tribute!
