[Other] OneNote cannot index notes for fast searching because...I have Windows Indexing Service turned off because I don't like the green bar that comes up whenever I open a folder.
But recently I found out that it might affect my use of Onenote 2010. When I opened OneNote 2010, I got the following error message:
"OneNote cannot index notes for fast searching because the Windows Search service is not installed. You can install it in the Windows Control Panel by clicking Turn Windows features on and off and turning on the Windows Search entry."
What does this message mean? I don't know what "fast searching" is, but my only concern is being able to find words/phrases from within OneNote 2010 (using ctrl+e and ctrl+f). In order to accomplish what I want, is it necessary to re-enable Windows Indexing Service? |

Re: [Other] OneNote cannot index notes for fast searching becausNot sure why you wouldn't want to have Windows Indexing Service on?
You could search from any folder and find your One Note notes with it. It also helps outlook speed up searches, I imagine it must help One Note too. |
