[BW Meter] The Meter is Gone?

I was about to pay my current bill on line, and where there's usually the link to the Meter, is just a note to check my user info/phone. No meter.
Have they temporarily removed access?

Nevermind. Sorry. It's back. Same exact bookmark to get me in. Not showing when I wrote. It's there now. Strange, but no big deal.

LOL. When the shutoffs started, I was anxious to see the meter. When I peaked at 60GB/mo when I used Netflix streaming, I realized it was a big deal about nothing. Now I just peek at it when going to pay the bills.

I haven't been able to see my meter for weeks now, if not, over a month. Chatted with customer service and said they're doing "maintenance" and any data used during this time will not be charged against your usage.

My meter is showing, and it says the cap is 250. I am at 115 right now. I thought they were removing the cap or increasing it?

As it says on the FAQs page (»customer.comcast.com/help-and-su···ive-use/) on Comcast's current suspension of their Monthly Data Cap, the data usage meter will remain accessible, but you can ignore the 250GB cap that is indicated:

Q. Does this mean you're going to stop cutting people off who exceed your cap?
A.
Effective immediately, we are suspending enforcement of our current data usage cap and we will launch trials of new data usage approaches, although we will continue to contact the very small number of excessive users about their usage, which can be indicative of security or related issues.

Q. Will you continue to offer access to the data usage meter?
A.
Yes.The Data Usage Meter is an easy and quick way for customers to track their Internet data usage. The primary account holder can find it by signing onto Comcast.net and logging into “My Account.” Then click on “Users and Settings,” look in the “My Devices” section (located toward the upper right hand of the screen), and click on “View Details.” From there, you can view your Data Usage Meter details page that shows your monthly data usage. We're working on ways to make the Data Usage Meter even easier to find and track.

My meter has been gone for about a week now.

Probably an account issue. It may reappear but I can tell you this... Just because it's not showing up suddenly doesn't mean you have a free for all.

No, but this

»[BW Meter] Comcast to Replace Usage Cap

means we have a free for all.

Think that if you want but no where has it been stated that from testing on our bandwidth is "unlimited" while testing is done.

@optonline.net

On the Comcast blog it says you can ignore the limit while this testing is being done. They will however contact a few etreme cases (probably people downloading 2TB or more a month). They will no longer kick you off the network as well, effective immediately. It says all that. So if you downloaded 400GB next month I doubt Comcast would say a thing to you about it.

I don't have a cap on my ISP and I watch all my shows online streaming or downloads (iTunes/Amazon, etc) and even now my DD-WRT enabled router is saying i've used about 180GB for the month. Hell today alone I did 20GB (holiday weekend) but even i still think 400GB a month is a lot. I have a 50Mbps connection and there was 1 month I did use 600GB but that was a ton of data transfer between my "server" and the cloud + a backup at my friends house. The month after he was uploading a good 100GB to my system while he upgraded his server as well. Normally though i'd say 250-300GB is heavy use!

As would I. However I think my external HDD is *finally* uploaded to Backblaze, now that the cap is not enforced...so my usage for this month sits at 750GB on my 50/15 Comcast connection.

That's the most that connection has ever seen, or will ever see while I'm using it...since in August I'm heading to a non-Comcast city and I don't plan on doing any ridiculous downloads/uploads between now and then

But yeah, I put the "we aren't capping right now" to good use.

Right.. But they've really contradicted themselves when it comes down to it. They state that it won't be enforced during the trial but they will be contacting high bandwidth users still.
