Re: [Chat] New computer-ventilation question

I haven't looked at those in years. They disappeared for a couple or more years and I stopped looking. I don't know how reliable they are or if he has time to keep them going.

I thought you gave me that link, saying their stats were more current or words to that effect. Must've been someone else...

Edit: Found it and wasn't from you or particularly recommended.

Yes, thank you. I've checked that one when checking the other. Wonder when I'll show up with numbers in Rank, Points, and Gain.

Re: [Chat] New computer

An icon just appeared on my desktop called "CoreTemp.ini" (edited to add screen snapshot). It opens with Notepad by default, saying what's below. Does anyone know what it's about and whether I need to keep it? I was clicking on the icon to restart CoreTemp after realizing I'd accidentally shut it down.

Not sure why the core temp. ini file showed up on the desktop but it is safe to delete it. I have never seen that. That file belongs in the core temp program file.

Not ignoring you, just not sure what you're looking for.

This, maybe?

Thanks. Didn't feel ignored; the question isn't critical.

I've looked at this page (screen snapshot attached) and another where my name was at the top of a slightly longer list, also with zeroes in those columns. I posted a picture of it before, with names in a column headed Challenging Member here. Guess the zeroes will disappear when they're supposed to.

It's not like I really understand the charts, anyhow.

You are always going to be at zero in that view because it is showing you as in relation to your conquests and your threats (if you even had any). If you looked at me there or any other member there for that particular view, we would also have the zeros and everyone else in relation to us would be either plus something or minus something in comparison. That view us showing points difference between you and your conquests/threats, your rate of gain daily and using those numbers to project how long it will take you to overtake your conquests or your threats to overtake you, if all things stay equal.

Re: [Chat] New computer-ventilation question

Thanks for explaining and posting the screen snapshot. Now I can quit looking to see if it changed!

It's fun to see the machine getting so much more done.

Those algorithms that were changed awhile back to distribute milestones differently will affect me eventually and milestones will stop being daily, right?

I don't know. I guess when leibold finishes the new script we can all talk about it.

So that's different from what you referred to below.
said by Sunny:

Awhile back my Milestones became a bit more frequent. Nothing like now, of course!

My comment to you was about a script leibold is working on specifically for the daily reporting of Team Helix milestones.

The comment you just quoted was made in a different thread to markofmayhem. I was referring to Pande Group trying to keep certain types of WUs from over-rewarding for time/effort expended. Not related, no.

Re: [Chat] New computer

Had to share this:

From June 1, 2009, until the Milestone list on May 23, 2012 (approx. 3 years), the old computer earned 115,000 points.

On June 4, the new box started working and now (11 days later) it's brought me up to 230,000 points--double.

My husband figured out that, ballpark, it's a 9,954½% increase in productivity!

Let me check that math!
...............115,000....................carry the one................
Yup! Double!!

CONGRATS!

It's nice to be making a more meaningful contribution.

Edit: What I said above doesn't express what I intended. Would be more accurate to say that it's fun to see bigger numbers. My contribution now is not more meaningful than it was before; it's merely more fun to watch.

But, remember, every single WU has the possibility of being the one that unlocks the key to finding a cure, so every single contribution is meaningful. Your contributions always were meaningful. You are now just able to make more of them.

Exactly. That's why I ran FAH for 3 years on the older computer.

Yes, I know. Sometimes we can't do as much. I'm there right now and then sometimes we can. It's all good. It's Helix.

And there was nothing wrong with what you said before.
