Re: how turn off wifi routers?? Netgear WNR series, and Linksys devices running alternative firmware Tomato do allow you to turn off the WiFi radio in the web-based interface.
If you were able to turn off the entire router, your connectivity is now lost, so how would you get it back on? unless you walked over and flipped a switch. Here are some methods you could use to turn off something remotely... »www.controlbyweb.com/webrelay »www.cyberguys.com/product-search···r+reboot »dataprobe.com/iboot-remote-reboot.php |

I was responding to a theoretical question in kind. But this is not a theoretical forum nor was my questioning in that vein. I don't think there are any routers that when off can be turned back on with WOL.
However I don't know everything and I could very well be wrong. It won't be the first time or the last for that. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

 | your opinion is noted.
your question was in response to an ANSWER to a question that was theoretical.
therefore, your beef is with the original asker of the question, no? it would be foolish to go after a symptom (or more specifically in my case, causality) rather than the problem, yes? |
