another holiday, another outage

Ticket submitted, but all incoming calls are going to dead air and the outage forward isn't working. This is also happening to my in-laws who use VT as well...

Are you on FiOS? I wonder is its a VZ thing more than a VT thing. Though we have been having lots of dead air/fast busy issues since march, when they made changes to their network.

I am on FiOS. In my case I think it was a router setting. I disabled the SIP setting to see if it would impact something else and apparently it took the phone line down.

I have to laugh for a moment. I was a customer in 2006 and dropped them back then....
Good to see the learning curve has made a difference in the service level a full 6 years later...

My symptoms are two fold.
1. When brother calls from NJ to here in CA he gets a horn sound.
2. When the call does ring here I can not hear them. Sometimes they can hear me. They call back and most of the time I can hear them.

Via Talk support has tried to resolve to no avail.

Perhaps something in your setup is producing the noise.
