That he does and it's very encouraging to read what he says even if the site itself is silent. |

IPv6-Readiness Check - 5 Tests Will Run - If Any Are RED, follow the directions and report the issue - If None Are Red, then you are fine for now Test IPv6 FAQ IPv6 Day Mirrors Stats Changes/ToDo Summary Tests Run Technical Info Report a Problem Your IPv4 address on the public internet appears to be xx-etc. Your IPv6 address on the public internet appears to be 2601-etc. World IPv6 day is June 8th, 2011. Congratulations! You appear to have both IPv4 and IPv6 internet working. If a publisher publishes to IPv6, your browser will connect using IPv6. Your browser prefers IPv6 over IPv4 when given the choice (this is the expected outcome). Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 internet access.

Just got my new Zoom 5341J, got it connected to my E3000 running TomatoUSB, got the config for IPV6 and it's running sweet. Locking 8 downstream and 3 upstream channels. I'm in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, GA. |

So what is the big deal about it then if it's not CPE relevant? Because it is relevant to the MSO, we need to know what mode your cable modem is reporting. So not relevant to the user, just the MSO. |

The DOCSIS MIMO or MDD IP Mode is for the cable modem management interface only. That doesn't have anything to do with your side (CPE side) of the cable modem. |

Power cycled my Motorola SB6141 today and noticed that a new SW INIT log entry started.
New firmware SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.10-SCM00-NOSH (up from the previous 1.0.6.8).
Also, under the "Configuration" page, the DOCSIS MIMO now reads "Honor MDD IP Mode" while Modem's IP Mode now reads "IPv6 Only". Both of these values previously related to IPv4 only. |

After some flakiness this morning, discovered I had IPv6 addresses here in Ann Arbor, MI. Both directly connected to the cable modem (SB6121) and through the router (WNR2000v2). The computer is a Macbook Pro using Mountain Lion (10.8.2). The router is set to "Auto-Detect" and seems to pass the ipv6 address to other devices just fine. |

I noticed yesterday that Comcast loaded a new firmware into my Comcast provided modem, and it does show IPv6 settings now, but they are not yet enabled. This is in Jacksonville FL with a business account and an SMC modem/router combination. At the same time (probably) and the reason I checked the modem, my connectivity became pretty poor. The modem keeps getting very slow about every 1-2 minutes with pings to the modem itself exceeding 1sec. Also, the web based admin interface doesn't respond well at all. The modem is also not listed as IPv6 capable at » mydeviceinfo.comcast.net (but maybe they only consider the old firmware). I suspect they may be trying to do too much with this modem. |

It's 2-fers day! First, I am showing results using my WNR1000v2-VC again because something has changed and now it can connect to Comcast's native dual stack using "Auto Detect". Previously it had to be explicitly setup for "DHCP". Nothing on my end changed, the router still has the same firmware, but something changed. I am still getting the "/64" on the WAN instead of a "/128", but having to occasionally reboot it when the WAN IPv6 address changes is not as much of a PITA now that I only use this router as a guest router.
Next, are the results using my D-Link DIR655. The same notebook is used for this as was used above, I just changed which WiFi AP it associated with.

Re: [IPv6] Evidence of Comcast IPv6 CPE Dual Stack (CPE and CPEPAs you can see above, the router issue has been solved.
The WNDR3700v4 uses a newer Atheros chipset (as opposed to the Broadcom chipset of the v3, or older Atheros chipset of the v2) - thus, no third-party firmware is available (yet). |
