Re: 56 Years of Tornado Tracking Data

When I was 8 an F4 came by our farm. It went right through one of our barns. Completely demolished it. Besides the barn we lost 4 horses and a few dozen pigs. We found 3 of the horses dead from a few hundred feet to about a mile away. We never found the 4th horse or most of the pigs. The tornado also tossed around a couple empty grain wagons and ripped off a lot of the shingles on the house and blew out half the windows. Lost several trees also.

It was the most awesome and also most terrifying experience of my life.

I've always wanted to see one. See != Experience.

After go-carting all night I left my best friend in a barn to drive home and fuel the cart back up.
He fell asleep there. I burned my hand at home and fell asleep while soaking it in ice water.

He was woken up when a tornado started ripping the roof sheeting off the barn.
The barn was only about 30' tall and open down one side; so it was an up-close experience for him.

I never even realized there was a storm till he showed up, ready to loosen my teeth.
Since he could change car engines w/o a hoist, I took his feelings seriously.
