** To clarify, this is directed at level 90. Naturally, I expect most players to select an optimal leveling spec from 85-90 so do not take that into consideration in your answer.

Snuffboxir nice irlPremium join:2011-04-15 Milwaukee, WI kudos:4 | Actually intentionally omitted.
I'm interested in seeing what specs people are viewing as fun, and or powerful.
There's entirely too much unknown about the monk, on top of the number of people that will be taking monk purely because it's new - the above would skew the results I'm interested in. |

 | reply to Snuffbox For now it'll be assassination on my rogue. I see that combat was just buffed again in the latest beta, so I'll play around a bit with that this weekend.
Unless they seriously do SOMETHING to fix sub from where it is on beta, I can't see me playing that anymore. |

 | reply to Snuffbox I picked demonology warlock because that will be the easiest to level. As far as what spec will I play @90, that will depend on which spec will have the highest potential DPS output in the current content as I am sure will be the case with all the other min/max'ers out there. So IMO your poll is kind of pointless, unless you just want to see what classes will be leveled up first. |

Snuffboxir nice irlPremium join:2011-04-15 Milwaukee, WI kudos:4 | reply to Vinceruos_t No, the OP states not to take leveling into consideration.
Most players have an idea what class/spec they expect to do well (whether it's heals/dps/tanking) and most of us have multiple classes to choose from.
Not at all pointless, and absolutely reflects class expecations to some degree. |

Guardian has been added. |

I guess to avoid confussion. More so because PvP Feral players were able to dip into too many Bear cooldowns making them rather hard to balance without giving Feral Kitty too much access to both strong defensive and offensive cooldowns.
Not to derail my own thread... |

I personally don't care so much about relative power levels, but made my choice based my history with the character.
(also I meant to say Prot Warrior instead of Fury Warrior, but I'm bad at polls)
EDIT: can you have two polls in a thread? Might be interesting to ask "and was this your main coming out of Cata?" |

Do you think that there's no relationship between powerful and enjoyment?
Either way, short answer is yes.
Not everyone will take what they think will be powerful/enjoyable Some people only have one class for example, or are uncomfortable with a new class. This is why sample size is absolutely crucial.
But yes, if a large enough sample size is taken, you will absolutely begin to see a relationship between enjoyment/overpowered versus what people are most comfortable with.
My Rogue has more hours under him than anything else... by far... and largely due to the 1S GCD he's usually what I enjoy the most. However, he is not who I will be bringing to MoP based on current changes.

Snuffboxir nice irlPremium join:2011-04-15 Milwaukee, WI kudos:4 | reply to Snuffbox So far, only 1 druid, zero hunters, zero priests, and zero death knights.
Rogue, despite being supposedly one of the least played classes is currently showing a healthy representation between all three specs.
Resto Shaman currently in the lead, which is personally what I was expecting. |

Goldheart join:2002-06-09 Rio Rancho, NM kudos:1 | reply to Snuffbox I have always played a demo lock for my main, and am sticking with it. I do have other 85 alt classes, but I love warlocks. Even though they are arguably one of the worst classes during Cataclysm. I refuse to play anything else as my main. |

JoelC707Premium join:2002-07-09 West Point, GA kudos:5 | reply to Snuffbox You've got a DK on there now. This took some thought. The DK has always been my "main" all through LK and through most of Cata. I got my druid to 85 more than half way thru Cata and my Paladin just recently hit 85. I really don't know which one I will take to 90 first but it will most likely be my DK.
As for spec, I have always liked Unholy and back in Wrath I also liked the 51/0/20 blood spec. Never could get into Frost. I started out in Unholy not long after hitting 85 but didn't like it with lower gear levels. I played Frost end game in Cata thru T11/T12 but once I got a Gurthalak, I switched to Unholy. I could go back to Frost if I get some 1h's that are better than 378's. In short, I will play Frost or Unholy based on my current gear but have always historically liked Unholy so that's what I choose. |
