With my old cable I could watch one show through the cable while recording 2 others.  I just switched to FIOS and BTW my install tech said he expected 4-tuner and 6-tuner DVR's to be available this fall. <description><![CDATA[siersema posted : A couple of things.  No you can not fast forward through commercials but most are short 15-30 second ones and usually only one before show starts.  Second is the new 1.9.1 feature that if you are watching VOD and the second turner is recording a program; when another program is scheduled to record, it will ask you to record on the second DVR if available.  Wish they would forget the question and just do it as a default setting.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[amungus posted : Just pointing out another option - build a Windows Media Center machine with 4+ tuners... Ceton cards have been out for some time now. There are also options to use USB or Ethernet based tuners.<br><br>Point is, you're not limited by the box - you can add the tuner(s) that you want, and can also add storage if you want. <br><br>For a "whole house" solution - any Xbox 360 on any TV. Done. No extra fees for the "guide" info, nor for extra TVs.<br><br>It's not for everyone though. It does require some tweaking.<br><br>Personally, I've enjoyed my rather "simple" experimental box for quite some time now. It covers the basics for me, and has been largely stable.<br><br>VERY interesting about the Dish tuners.. thanks for that info matthewh16.]]></description>
