 | Heard Timtron last night (WA1HLR) Been listening to this HAM's transmissions since I had my Hallicrafters radio back about 40 years ago. Last night, with a new twist, listening on a HP 8568B spectrum analyzer using zero span mode and linear scale to demodulate the audio.

 | The HP 8568B looks like a mighty fine toy!
Timmy is always good company. I've known him for over 40 years and have to say his knowledge of old iron is unparalleled. After I signed off with him one day on 40 meters I recorded him as he continued to chat with Terry W2PFY. Watch Terry's signal on the panadapter as his BC-610 moves upward in frequency during the first few seconds of his transmission.

 | Yes, that is the same Timmy. |

 | reply to Ender3rd 8568B has been instrumental in the repair and alignment of several pieces of microwave STL gear that I have been selling refurbished. In spare time, it makes a pretty good SWL receiver.
Oh my, that BC-610 drifts quite a bit. Maybe running a VCO there?
A could days later, I caught Timtron on the air again, this time with better band conditions:
