Re: PPPoE Question FWIW Ive been working on an FAQ article that I should probably get around to submitting already, that gives an explanation of PPPoE and "why should you use it."
Ive kind of tried to keep it somewhat neutral in certain respects, despite the fact I am a proponent of PPPoE. It is kind of a sales pitch for it, as I happen to believe its actually a damn good way to run your network. I used to run a network that was based on PPPoE, and I believe the advantages it offers outweigh some of its disadvantages, particularly on the user management point of view.

Would welcome any feedback (via PM, lets not spam this thread) about anything that is unclear, incorrect, or anything else you'd like to see explained. Bear in mind though that its not a configuration guide for your equipment or software, its all about PPPoE, but we could perhaps work out another article to detail this kind of thing. |
