They'd put more 'stress' on the system if they allowed people who didn't have day jobs!

Alright, I need an honest DSLR opinion. How does this compare vs things like WOW, D2, D3, Torchlight etc. You can base your answer off whatever reason game mechanics, story, pvp, etc etc. Thanks ^_^

Thanks for the link it was helpful. It sounds interesting so I'll give it a go. Alot of the ideas seem to come from other games, but having them all in one sounds intriguing. I do find the no heals/Tanks part pretty intriging, I quit wow because I was way to burned out on the model, SWTOR was fun till level cap, then it was wow all over again. My only worry is the server pops and hopefully their are still people to play with in 2 months after the hype, But being their is no subscription fee it's not that big of a risk.

I've got to quit watching GW2 Youtube vids on my lunch break. Making the week go by very slowly. I'm learning a lot about the Engineer class though; it's a very complex class with a bunch of viable builds. 36 hours to go (give or take).

If it was me.. I would change the i7-3770k to i5-3570k, and the GT 640 to GTX 660 Ti.

Well, aside from the part about vastly over-paying by about $300, Dell probably put a 250w PSU in the machine, and the PSU space may be proprietary, meaning that he can't buy an aftermarket PSU to replace it with.

Ask me again why I dislike pre-builts so much. BTW, his thread is active so we can move hardware discussion over there:

Computing needs may dictate more than a fast processor. He will get years of use out of the processor while being able to upgrade to last-gen graphix and SLI them for a boost later. Granted, the gpu plays a significant part when gaming, but for everyday tasks and multi-tasking, a great cpu is amazing.

I cringe wondering how much he paid. Typical of resellers to pair an anemic GPU with an overpowered CPU and then charge a lot for it.

I know. First thing I saw was an i7 3770K, coupled with a GT 640? Really?? Haha.

Just bought a new computer for this game. Dont screw me, game!

Here is the config. Hope its good enough to run everything at max!

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3770 processor (up to 3.90 GHz)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz - 2 DIMMs
16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW), write to CD/DVD
1TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive 6.0 Gb/s
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 1GB DDR5

Wow dude. That's serious overkill on the CPU part with a weak GPU that has the equivalent processing power of the iGPU onboard an Intel HD i7-2760QM (source).

Your video card is going to be the constraining factor. Unfortunately, you probably can't swap it out with a more powerful one without also upgrading the PSU.

You likely dropped a lot of money unnecessarily. What did you pay for it, what are the complete specs, and what is the model number?

Like I said in my PM, please post this as a new thread in: »PC gaming Tech

I was going to order on Amazon, but I just ended up going directly through the Guild Wars website instead.

Is there hidden information in this game?

That's something I hate. For example in D3, some skills had a co-efficient rating of below 1 for crits, but you wouldn't ever know that unless you stumbled upon it.

Same with WoW, things were hidden in that game forever.

I'm really on the fence with this game right now. I am more leaning towards getting it, because I need something new to play. BF3 is the only game keeping me sane lately as pretty much everything else is cool for 2 only about 2 weeks. Convince me that GW2 is not going to be the next SwToR, Diablo III, Rift, Aion, etc etc etc. What is different about GW2 that will set it apart?
