Back Piece(x1): via Fractals(fractal tier-1 dungeon tokens) OR via Mystic Forge(gold and mats)
Rings(x2): via Fractals (fractal tier-2 dungeon tokens or drops)
Amulet(x1): via Dailies (laurels)
Accessorcies(x2): via Group Missions (commendations)
Pretty much everthing can be purchased with laurels, however, it will take you MONTHS!
This game is NOT alt friendly if you do not take the optimal route above. Even then, it will take 2 months to get 2 toons maxed out at earliest. |

Ascended gear is great, because it cannot be obtained with gold! Woohoo, you actually have to play the game.
We are up to 103 guild members, and about 80k influence.
We have Art of War 4 building. Then we will build Art of War 5. Then we will start building Guild Bounty missions.
Overall the changes are great, but it will take 1-2 weeks to try out guild missions. I am disapointed that achievement points were nerfed for dailies. Now once your daily is done, there is no motivation to do the extra available daily items. |

It's basically a different game now. And a better game.
Chain group events, that end in a chest are now 100% worthwhile to do. I opened the Grenth chain grand-chest and got FIVE rares, and one rare mat. These chest can only be done once daily each.
Certain ORR events now scale, and in addition spawn more challenging CHAMPION and VETERAN mobs once the zerg gets too big. This is excellent!
If you are bored or run out of things to do, run to the ORR or frostgorge zones, and get done the big chain events for chests. You can get like 25 rares a day just from completing all the big boss event chains. Getting people out of dungeons and into the open world.
Mob tagging is also improved! |

| I'm just saying. If you are trying to get best in slot gear for multiple toons, you are going to find it difficult and time consuming.
My warrior is my focus. And my guardian gets all ascended hand-me-downs at this point.
my next laurel purchase will be +20% MF infusion, which I will put into my ascended amulet

For some reason, I didn't have motivation to stay in-game last night and I missed out even finishing the daily (no time today, school straight from work). I should be on tonight though. Definitely looking forward to trying out the events.

After that guildies are welcome to join me as I complete grand chest events in the open world! This will get us nyce loot and bonus guild influence 
After that, if I'm not asleep, maybe 1 run of fractals.

Got in for about 30 mins this morning before work to try the Conditionmancer spec. Loot tagging and drops are much improved. I had several mats drop in Orr. TP prices may fall for some of these mats. Too damned tired to play any tonight. Can't wait to run the chain events this weekend.

Last night did my daily, then after that I did:
Grenth in Cursed Shore
Melandru in Cursed Shore
Dwyana in Malchor's Leap
Lyssa in Malchor's Leap
Shatterer Dragon in Blazeridge Steppes
From those 5 grand chests I got: 12-13 rares, 1 exotic ring, 1 onyx lodestone, 2-3 charged cores, some blues and greens
2 days ago I did grenth, and got 5 rares from one chest. This is very lucky, and NOT the norm. But in the end 1 onyx lodestone is worth about 6 rares, and a charged core is worth about 2 rares.
hopefully this changes the dynamic of the game.
dungeons = skins
open world = gold
dailies/fractals/guild missions = ascended gear
from my understanding, but I may be wrong, you can do grand chests once a day per toon, so if you have the time, you can repeat them on all your toons |

Was doing plinx in CS last night solo and wasn't noticing much tagging change until I noticed a guildie doing the event as well. Holy shit like every mob tagged. I know it's always better in a group but this was as if we had a full party of 5. Didn't get a chance to run any chest events though.

| sPvP = structured PvP
it's basically an entirely separate world in GW2
none of your PvE gear, runes, etc. are usable there
it is self contained, and you start off with everything automatically
....
vs. WvW, where everything you have from PvE is usable
....
I assume it's sPvP, and I have no clue how progression in sPvP works... the fact that its detached from the rest of the game experience turns me off to it |
