I noticed something, however: I tried using a network cable from the Sagecom Lanport 1 to both the repeater and the old 2-wire modem (in case either had appreciably better coverage than the sagecom) and in both attempts - even with same and different ssid - something happened to the quality of bandwidth on the Sagecom.
mariospants posted : ok, what's the point in going wireless then? I tore the wires out of my century house when we did renovations recently, and now this "latest and greatest" sagecom sucker won't reach everywhere in the house (and certainly not too far outside). I just need to extend my wireless range, not run more cables.

I did run a cable to the 2nd AP and unfortunately the coverage was hardly better. I'm going to attach the 2-wire instead and see if it's sufficient (at 10/10 power it seems to be the best so far). What I want to be able to do is repeat or boost the wifi signal so that it can reach roughly 50-100' with thick walls in the way... I'm betting it probably can't be done, can it?

[Internet] BELL Sagecom Fibe 25 modem... can it be Repeated?

mariospants posted : So we "upgraded" from BELL 2-wire DSL service to the FIBE sagecom service... service is great as long as you're within 50 feet of the modem. It's definitely not reaching from our 3rd floor to the kitchen or outside garden, etc. Salesgirl at BELL erroneously told us it had a much more powerful wireless than the 2-wire (technically correct if you stuck with the factory settings of 4/10 on the 2-wire and the 100% on the sagecom...) but that's turned out to be a load of hooey.

Anyway, I have a wireless repeater, is there any recommended way to hook it up so that I can repeat the signal from the sagecom and boost its distance?

Thanks!
