Re: Raid 1 setup on Asus M5A97 MB

Assuming all was well before the mirrored array was configured?

Check BIOS to make sure that the first bootable hard drive is set to the SSD not the array.

All was well with my SSD setup on this new motherboard for a month or so. After swapping some drives around my NAS boxes I had these 2 WD drives leftover and thought why not try this raid 1 thing. Never messed with Raid before. I have the SSD drive as my bootable one. I have the sata setting config set for RAID. Other options are AHCI or IDE. In windows 7 I have thought about making these 2 drives mirrored but have heard not so good things about software Raid.

I had tweaked the settings so on the board for overclocking so last night I set everything back to default values and that did not help either.

If the SSD also got changed to RAID where it was IDE or AHCI before, that's your issue.
