1 edit | [IPv6] Netgear WNDR3700v1 and Ipv6 Issues Any one here other than myself having issues with this Ipv6 stuff?
My 3700v1 shows an address on LAN, yet on WAN it continues to display "Detecting".
I have it set to Auto Detect and the setting in LAN Setup is set to Auto Config also.
I can remove the 3700 and put in my E4200 and it connects Native and passes 10/10 on the ipv6 test site.
I have tried Firmwares 1.0.7.98 and 1.0.16.98 with same results.
I posted this in the Hardware section as well....thanks!! |

| Re: Netgear WNDR3700v1 and Ipv6 Issues This is the settings I had to use on my WNR3500L, you should have very similar settings. (IPv6 tab on left) |

This is what I get when setting it DHCP |
|
 | Did you reboot the router and modem after applying those settings? |
|
 | and the computer rebooted all 3 |
|
 | reply to Dumaine must be a bad router because I am now connected directly to the UBEE modem and all is working as expected |
|
|
|
 | I can't really think of any other settings to check, my 3500 connected right up when I selected those settings. |
|
 | reply to Dumaine no worries..I will just hook the E4200 back up........thanks alot!! |

on the E4200 |

 | reply to Dumaine I'm having the same issue with the WNDR3700v1 router... set IPv6 config to DHCPv6 for the WAN port and gives me the same response... |
|
 | I just cant figure it out......i just re-plugged it up to check and the same result, so I politely put it back in the box and in the attic.
I have factory reset it, changed Firmwares.etc etc......maybe its just a bug in the v1.......I dunno!! |

I have factory reset it, changed Firmwares.etc etc......maybe its just a bug in the v1.......I dunno!! This is the firmware level I needed on my WNDR3700V1:
Firmware Version V1.0.16.98-dnsNA GUI Language Version V1.0.0.64
»support.netgear.com/app/answers/···id/19565
P.S. make sure the firmware has the -dnsNA in the name. The link above will get you that version.
And make sure the Basic setting page uses DHCP for both IP addr and DNS addr.

 | thanks......yet that is the Firmware I was using. I still think that is whats on it now. I might drag it back out and check it a lil later |

| reply to Linklist I am in a Cisco CMTS area, so I can't get Native IPv6 now, anyway, but I had been wondering about firmware since I haven't received an upgrade for quite some time.
I nave the Netgear WNDR3700 V1, too. My firmware level is:
Firmware Version V1.0.7.98NA GUI Language Version V1.0.0.64
I did check for an upgrade the day Netdog's topic was posted, but received a message there is no later upgrade. Hmmmm ... Is V1.0.7.98NA earlier or later than your version? I am wondering if your "dsnNA" as opposed to my "NA" might mean we have slightly different versions of the router. -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

 | reply to Dumaine this is just a post (response to both of you)...I wonder if I am in a Cisco Area as well and thats why My E4200 gets Native and the 3700 does not??? |

The -dns part was a DNS resolver patch on the 16.98NA version. |

| Did you get that version via the router pages or did you need to download this patch from Netgear support and manually use it to upgrade? -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |
|
 | if I try to patch thru the router it will say no upgrades available. I got it from Netgear Support page |

| Ah, thanks. I'll consider looking at that if/when we ever get a Native IPv6 compatible CMTS in this area.
It makes me nervous, however, because of the difference in naming convention between those two versions. -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |

I found it thru the link on the router "Web Support/ Knowledge base": »kbserver.netgear.com/wndr3700.asp and then putting wndr3700v1 in the "Find Your product" box; then clicking on downloads and choosing the "WNDR3700/WNDR37AV Firmware Version 1.0.16.98 - BETA" link. Then click on the North America only box.
That will download a file called: WNDR3700-V1.0.16.98-dnsNA.img
Then I went thru the Router Upgrade box in the router and chose the download file from my PC's hard disk option. |
