| Well after weeks of slow peak speeds I actually got my 12 during the 8 9 10pm hours last night. I hope it continues and wasn't a one night deal. |

Heh since Windstream screwed the provisioning on my line up about a week ago now I'm stuck at 3-3.6mbps no matter the time of day, even though I'm synced at 14.9mbps.

So I open a topic in windstream direct and I get the response two days ago that engineering will contact me with an update.
Now instead of just having a slow connection during evening hours, it's happening all the time.

dmwalker24, im very close to you and we both have the same issues it seems.
Sunday at 5PM CT
I have an open ticket but i heard a couple days ago, that there is no new news. The tech in the WindstreamDirect forum was able to get me a $10 credit/month for 12 months. A little but even when my connection is stable and good im only getting 3Mb when my plan and modem is set to 14mb. 
It really bites to be a gamer. Even netflix performance is miserable a times. From 5PM -12AM on weekdays and all day on the weekends, I get pings of over 1-2kms are very common.

I got a response in Windstream Direct forum today that they are installing a new DSLAM with a gigabit ethernet uplink. According to the support specialist they are waiting on some connection with AT&T infrastructure before they can complete the installation. You're about 15 miles from me so I'm not sure if this will directly impact your service, but from all the information I've seen, it would seem they have started working on upgrades around the 1st of the year.
Hopefully this isn't one of the infamous "upgrades" that will go on for months/years. Who knows, maybe with a gigabit uplink I might be able to get something faster than 1.5Mb out here, but seriously I will settle for a reliable 1.5. |

Thanks for that information. I quizzed my WindstreamDirect tech just a bit earlier regarding this information and if it could impact me in a positive way.

| Looks great, I have similar stats, the thing I notice is how much difference the speed test sites vary, I like in Southwest Missouri and usually use the Springfield, MO server, it is closest to my location, but I notice that when I use that server I only get around 5Mbps down and about an 80 ping, well the server only about 10 miles away in Nixa consistently reports around 12.5Mbps and around a 65 ping. Testmy.net shows around 15Mbps. I just don't know what to believe, I test using several other servers and get extremely different results also. I was downloading a steam game and was getting 12Mbps speed, why do you guys think different servers report so much differently? Thanks. |
