[IPV6] settings.

I am using a Netgear 37AV (3700v2) router.
Started playing around with the IPV6 settings and don't have clue on how to set it up.
My choices are.
Auto detect
6to4 tunnel
Pass through
fixed
DHCP
PPPOE
How should that be set up?

Thanks.

Re: [Connectivity] IPV6 settings.

auto detect is usually a good place to start.
Remember in some places, CC has not rooled IPv6 yet (I don't see it here )and in other they are giving only 1 IP so you won't see it without directly connecting to the modem.
it may have to do with our all cisco systems or???.

Your area doesnt have native Daul-Stack setup yet. So use the 6to4 Tunnel via Comcast: »www.comcast6.net/6to4-config.php

Any clue when cisco based CRAN's will see native IPv6?

Thank you both.
I set it to Auto detect and it comes up as the connection type 6to4 tunnel.
It does show a IPV6 ip on both Wan and Lan so will leave it there for now.

In this case we can't seperate the two, our CRAN is an all cisco CMTS region.

Here's a quote by jlivingood from another thread.

Since the launch is happening in a few days, do you have a listing of Comcast areas/states that are IPv6 ready? I would like to know just out of curiosity

We are working on that as either a map or lookup tool. Don't have it finished yet though. Think of it this way though - if you are on an Arris CMTS you will be IPv6 enabled (with the right modem obviously) within maybe 90 days or so. Cisco will be after that - but they are not yet ready (we're working like heck to change that).

Thank-you for that, it's good to see a hint of a timeline.

Huh ? I thought that the CRAN's were their regional access routing interfaces in the wider geographical areas and not the CMTS interfaces at the local headend facilities ????

maybe I'm misusing the term, but if you look at the known extents of the Beverton, OR- CMTS it at least 300 by 500? miles.... I'd consider that a Regional area Network
Since NetDog See Profile seems to have intimate knowledge of our area, perhaps he can clarify our actual size and configuration.

EG is correct here, in this case the issue is not the CRAN. The issue is with the CMTS that is in the area.

More info in John Brzozowski's Blog post: »blog.comcast.com/2012/06 ··· nch.html
"We then expect to progress to the Cisco CMTS platform."
