Southern California → Moving

From Ventura to Simi Valley. The daily commute to Chatsworth is just too much. Also, two weeks ago I traded in my Camry (26 mpg) for a Tacoma 4X4 (19 mpg, but I need a truck to get to some trail heads), so my fuel costs really went up.

Fuel costs will go down, rent and car insurance will go up ($200 more a year for insurance living in Simi), but I'm sick of spending 2+ hours a day on the freeway.

So how do you like the Tacoma? What's the daily commute time from the new apartment?

I like the Tacoma so far. Much different ride than a Camry, so takes some getting used to.

The new commute is 12.6 miles (one way) as opposed to 46.3. Takes about 13 minutes.

I miss my Tacoma. Had a 2002 that I traded in 4 years ago for a Camry before our first kid was born. I really wish I still had it, especially now that we own a house.

We can't make that determination until we know what he's doing with the extra time. If he's writing a proposal for a new reality show, I'd rather have him sitting in traffic.
