Comcast Door to Door Sales

Anyone know what Comcast's door to door sales people make? I find it hard to believe they would pay them 6 figures on top of the benefits they get, but maybe they do. Anyone know what the commission structure looks like?

Might be a good thing to get into.

Who said 6 figures? Its a base pay and commission. Probably can be 6 figures after all is said and done. But that is commission.

You are correct. The 6 figures is from the commission, I was just hoping to find out what the commission was and how it can get that high.

What's your basis for believing it CAN get that high? I'd be very surprised if that type of sales position paid anything close 6 figures.

I am in agreement with you. I don't see how it could pay that high even with the commissions. In some internet searching I have seen people say they are up in the 110,000+/yr range. I find it hard to believe a company would pay that much to a sales person in addition to the benefits.

I knew a salesman at comcast that made 250,000 dollars a year. I also knew a guy that made 50,000 doing the exact same job. One worked in Philadelphia and the other worked the suburbs. One got to sit and sign people in newly wired highrises and the other got to knock on doors in pottstown. The one in philly had apartment managers giving new tenants his card and the one in pottstown sucked. Im not a salesman for them but the way it was explained to me is its a graduated pay. Lets say you get 70 dollars for a triple play. That 70 dollars can go up to like 100.00 if you sell 60 triple plays in a week. Thats the way it was explained to me without me remembering the actual numbers. Bottom line is tho yes a good salesman can make a good buck doing it.

but you get to knock door to door everywhere even where you could get harmed or killed in the process. Do they pay you more if you have to do door to door in those areas?

ummm no....i dont get paid more when i have to throw my ladder over fences, and avoid pit bulls.....why would a sales rep for knocking on a front door? not to mention sales reps wont make many sales in the high crime areas.....so why bother going? if i dont have to go there, i dont.

Many years ago did it as a part time gig as an Independent Contractor. Comcast had just entered a new market area with laying of Cable in an area that was middle to upper middle class single family homes. We had printouts of the addresses with pretty accurate guesses as to what service they had.

The competition was OTA, Dish and DirectTV. Signed up a lot and wore out a lot of shoe leather.

It is pretty much as rody_44 See Profile says, it is all the luck of the draw as to the territory that one gets.

Every week we had different offers. We got $x amount for a Dish conversion/buyout, HSI only, Double Play, and all varied upon package sold and totals per week. We had offers that one could not get by calling Comcast directly. We worked in pairs. And I did not do the "hard sell". And it was decent part time money as I was going to school.

We had the same contract papers for the customers to sign and while at the door, we would call into dispatch to arrange installation appointments and get the various order numbers we needed.

But $100k? Ha. I needed to get exercise at the time and averaged about $25/hour after taxes and was satisfied with that.

How do you get one of these gigs? Do they have them in all their markets?

Also I would assume business accounts with contracts or Metro E services that garner thousands in monthly fees would have a substantially higher commission.
It all depends what your selling and where your selling.

I can't see it on commissions alone. Most companies (can't speak for CC) will pay a commission plus a residual. After a year or two of busting your ass can get to 6 figures as your residuals build up.

I do not, have not, and will not work for AT&T/Comcast/Verizon/Charter or similar sized company.

How do you believe those door to door service guys for whatever they offer? I have come across complaints from some of my friends about the false promises made by these people. They have been offered TV, phone and internet connection for a better price than what they were paying. It has been a fortnight since the offer and there is no improvement. I just want to know if this is just a coincidence or is it the same everywhere.
