I know can't really rant I guess but come next year Amazon will be in Jersey and my run of cheaper tax free stuff will come to an end. -- "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." -Jimi Hendrix |

Their stuff is still cheaper than B&Ms. Not nearly as much as it used to be. I think they've been within 10% or so on everything I've bought in the last year or two, and not always the cheapest. |

You won't have to calculate these out of state purchases and pay a tax when you file your NJ tax return.
You do this, right? Otherwise, you are cheating NJ and its residents out of legal tax revenue. |

this is the real bullshit. from the op article: quote: The deal is contingent on Amazon receiving tax incentives to finance construction of the warehouses in cities that were not named.

Re: this is the real bullshit. The real crime is where the "tax incentives" come from. The company will get back the income tax money for each of the new employees they hire. So, in effect, the employees are giving their own hard-earned money back to their employer! The "tax incentives" are paid by the employees! In any other universe, that would be illegal. |
