I also have that link in my Fx and Opera bookmarks on my guest machine. When I update Flash, I always use the link to make sure Flash installed correctly. I suppose the IE link says "small" because there is one tiny box on Adobe's page that tells you what your current version number is and the other box is larger but not that big and shows Flash logo and says it installed correctly. (The "tiny" box on that page that tells you the current version installed is what showed in gigantic font that I posted in the screenshot in my post here. I now vaguely recall it being gigantic one other time recently and Adobe issued a corrected version, I think, or maybe I rebooted and it was then OK, I can't remember. It is IE 6, thus, may need reboot more than later versions of IE on XP but I am avoiding rebooting unless I really have to do so).

It was just the "about Flash" page at Adobe that had the gigantic font. I also went to »myspeed.visualware.com/index.php where the world map of servers to choose from was gigantic. I couldn't use it as it was so large that even just the West Coast side of the USA portion of the map sprawled all over the screen and way off the screen so I couldn't see any servers to click on for the Java Speed test. Visualware has the most accurate speed tests and I have used this site for many years (also own MySpeed software) so I know how the Flash part of it should appear. I also tried a video somewhere...I don't recall where and the font was so gigantic that I couldn't use it at all. Youtube blocks IE6 for me but that is likely because I have XP Pro SP 2 not SP 3. I also tried speednet.com and, again, the map was so gigantic that I couldn't choose a server there and everything on the page was gigantic. speednet.com was blocking IE 6 also for awhile but stopped doing that several months ago and I have been using it before the blocking and again after they stopped blocking but I couldn't use it with the latest Flash version on IE 6.

I still have not updated Flash on my guest machine. For all I know, it might not work on IE 8 because I have XP Pro SP 2. I will not risk updating Flash on the guest machine as even my ISP uses Flash for their speed test. It is essential that I have Flash working for speed tests (even though it not useful to do Flash speed tests because of Power Boost...but even Visualware's superior Java test uses Flash for you to choose the server and then does a Java speed test).
--
When governments fear people, there is liberty.
