Re: [Cable] How can I force TWC to carry all the RSN's?

Is there a way I can force TWC to carry all 3 of the RSN's that both DTV and Dish carry?

Uhh volunteer to PAY for them???
And don't bet on that doing it to. Plus local cable it could be stupid black out rules.

But personally as a person that gives NADA about sports in general, why is 50% of my bill that cost for the "FREE" chs? That is what sports bars are for... drink and have communal fun, but you are still paying for it at home and never watch there???

Now why is it the sports people just won't say no??? Well that would be OBVIOUS because they are getting a FREE ride from us that could give a crap... that still pay for ESPN and the other NOT
'FREE" crap we never watch at their benefit.

So yeah the "right" serfs gladly riding the Lord'`s horse, at the other's they feel superior to could care less cost.

As a huge sports fan, I always laugh when people complain about the cost of sports on TV. While I would just die without my Buffalo Sabres, chalk me up as an NFL, NHL, MLB and NASCAR fan. I’m also starting to get into box lacrosse. I will watch college and minor league sports, but only if my teams are involved.

I don’t find sports bars enjoyable. I don’t drink alcohol, and I don’t enjoy being around others when they consume alcohol. So why should I go there? I want to watch my sports in the comfort of my own home, on my own TV. Nothing like not being able to not hear the TV while a bunch of drunks are yelling and acting like idiots. I’ll take my own high end 55” TV, with my own Dolby 5.1 set up, with my own DVRs so I can re-watch key plays.

Thanks for subsidizing my sports addition, I (and the fine folks at Disney) appreciate it

We need more sports channels! I'd like to see some more American Hockey League coverage, and I'd like more NLL acction then just CBS Sports Networks game of the week.

I actually have the same sentiments. Cable TV just seems kind of stupid to me without sports. I hate reality TV so the only shows I actually watch are on FX (may God Bless Always Sunny) and AMC plus the high end programming on HBO (such as Broadwalk Empire) and Showtime. Everything else is reality TV and movies and reruns that I have on DVD somewhere.

Now with that being said, I believe IPTV and Google Fiber project are the future. I don't see subscription TV ever going away but I can see it becoming more A La Carte such as a package with sports channels, movie channels et cetera.

Then being willing to PAY for it and stop bitching there aren't enough "free" sports channels.

I don't mind a sports bar now and then for games I want to see. And what on earth do you need sound for??? Are you blind??? You just want to hear some announcer blather endless and here all those ads? And usually most I've been to for a big game they do have the sound on.

PS it is not a LAW you must drink alcohol in a bar. I often space them out with water and soda.

I’m not bitching about anything. Not sure where you got that from. I subscribe to the premium sports tiers on both Time Warner and DirecTV, I subscribe to NHL Center Ice, MLB Extra Innings and I get ESPN Game Plan every once in a while, and this year, I’m going to get NFL Sunday Ticket.

I want to hear the call of the game, I want to hear the pre game, I want to hear analysis, I want to hear the post-game press conferences. For Sabres hockey, I want to hear Rick Jeanneret. For NASCAR, when it’s on Fox, I want to Crank It Up.

I guess you missed the part about me not wanting to be around drunks and not enjoying the whole bar atmosphere watching an event on their inferior set ups. Why would I want to go somewhere that I don't enjoy going to, when I can accomplish the same thing at home?

Your anti sports rants make me laugh.

Guess you have never been to a live game either then, that is part and parcel of american "sports"

Again don't ask me to subsidize you sanitized version.
You seem super premium happy so how about paying for ALL of it, like ESPN and the other "free" crap non or casual sports fans pay for but considering that is 50% of the bill consider not worth it.

I’ve been to plenty of sporting events. 13 NASCAR races, 1 Yankees game in NYC, and tons of Bills and Sabres games over the years along with a few Bandits LAX games. For NASCAR races I typically sit in the family section where smoking and alcohol is prohibited. Beer prices at sporting events are typically high enough for people not to display drunken stupidness.

I don’t have to ask you to subsidize ESPN or any other sports channel, because you already do! And I’m enjoying every single second of it! Hahaha.

And you say ZERO alcohol influence at all in those venues.

Sorry like $200+ dollars forNFL Sunday RIP OFF, I can tolerate a sports bar fot the FEW games I want to seen

Or again me subsidizing you for ESPN which is a HUGE amount of money.

Know a sorts bar that paid for Sunday rip off but was stilll expected to pay another $500/mo just for ESPN.

$200 for Sunday Ticket is not a rip off. About the same as what MLB, NHL and NBA charge. And it's $140 less than what it was last year.
