I think I'll save money...
Line 1: iPhone on 1400 plan with unlimited messaging at 99.99 plus $30 for unlimited data is $130.
Line 2: iPhone add-a-line $9.99 plus $30 for 2GB data is $40
Line 3: Mobile Hotspot $50 for 5GB data
Total: $220 before all of the taxes and crap...
$100 for 10GB data
$40 for iphone
$40 for iphone
$20 for hotspot
Am I missing something??? Seems like I will get more data than I cuttingly have and use, plus unlimited calling and the mobile hotspot feature for my other iPhones. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Yes. Unlimited data on primary iphone. Gone.
Now it hasn't been disclosed as to pricing if you take a lower tier, but I am BETTING that as you see plans go $10/2GB that they will charge $10/1GB OVERAGE as to induce people to sign up for plans they don't need just in case.
Also it hasn't been discussed on hotspot pricing , but don't plan on that being free.
You see they want you to PAY for 10GB not USE it.

You calculated your new pricing incorrectly.
For 3 phones and a 10GB bucket of data, the cost is $220 per month. You save $0.
So in your case, you gain nothing but unlimited voice minutes, while exchanging your unlimited data phone for a 3GB cap.
Use the calculator here: www.verizonwireless.com/ShareEverything
3 smartphones = $120/month
10GB Data = $100/month
There is no charge for mobile hotspot on phones any longer.
(So feel free to use as much data as you want! That's the entire point of it ... so you use more and thus, pay $15/GB in overages.)

Saving money on your monthly bill? .. it's an illusion. But, it's not surprising that you're falling for the drug (or seeing the worm on the hook like the fish you are to them) to see this as a good thing for that $20 you say... this is what they want you to do.. this is what they are expecting - it's common for them to give a carrot while they hold the stick behind their back just waiting to smack ya.
Most only have to look at their plan to see that it's a bunch of horse-shit. If this was an HONEST billing method/plan on their part, the price you pay PER device wouldn't be as they are advertising.
They're selling basically voice/text and then data, and the voice and text is "unlimited"... bullsh*t.... it's not. They're aggregating the price you pay on the device you use.. they STILL clearly believe that a smart phone will use more texts.. and that computers will use more data than tabs, which STILL makes no sense since in THESE cases, they're using data which is already metered as it is! Again.. that makes no sense.
As I see it if they were being "honest" (cough) about this, a "phone" would be $30 and a data-only device would be $10..
In their eyes, a smart phone will still use more text, and a laptop will still use more data so they're skimming off the top on texting and also with data.
That $20 YOU would save, now, is a drug to keep you in euphoria with your current savings.. once they see enough people have bit the worm on the hook you'll see a shift in the way they charge for data, which will just go up.
They also priced their connect cards higher than a tablet to avoid the desire to just rely on one of those.. depending on the consumer, like me, a jetpack would just be a smarter choice as I'd connect all my iPads, and laptops and such to that and screw their access fee per device.
Oh, and let's not forget to ask.. does this mean they are not going to FORCE the consumer to take a mandatory data place? OR did they just give themselves a raise, across the board, by MANDATING data at $50 a month instead of the $30 they USED to get AND lowered the data to just 1GB?
