Re: [MoP] PvP in MoP "We did some internal testing with just one artifact and discovered that the gameplay devolved into a sort of deathmatch in the center of the map."
Would be nice to GET a deathmatch style map actually. Take your IOC/SOA clever vehicle mechanics and press delete, they are overwhelmingly disliked.
With 10 total battegrounds, I do not think ONE simple team deathmatch map would be a bad thing... give me two factions fighting over a center land mass within a smaller map so we can have those attrition battles like we see occasionally on the AV Alliance Bridge or just down from SP Graveyard.
Whats wrong with that? |

That is actually the most fun i have in a bg, when AV devolves(evolves!) into a turtle and its just a good ol' standoff. -- "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat." - Sun Tzu |

Whats wrong with that? Because that magnifies class imbalance and causes floods of QQ.
When DM BG after DM BG mages are top killing blows and least deaths, the #$*(& storm begins.
Same reason we don't have 1 v 1 arena, and 2 v 2 is unrewarded. |

And strange enough, I haven't DC'ed once since I've been playing. I get some lag issues occassionally when I first log on, and have gotten the random teleporting/rubberband mob once or twice. Other than that, my experience has been pleasant so far. Granted, I'm not getting my shit packed by Imps in Inferno mode yet. D3 just has little replay value, and now has competition with WoW.
Old Diablo was incredible, but it also had no competition
Not at all criticizing, just predicting your return.
My friends all bought it.
They're all back to WoW. (A few are preparing for competitive Halo play admittedly) |

Diablo 3 was fun. Finished the first act, but that was it. I just think it was shallow, but a fun diversion from WoW. -- My domain - Nightfall.net |

There was an AV where the strategy in the cave was "10 play defense; 10 kill Galv, 10 each hold the first two towers till they burn; once Galv is down and towers burn, run to Drek". Of course it all falls apart. Me and two other people try to hold Tower Point versus about 8 Horde. Went about as well as you can expect, and I rez @ SPGY. Already a good battle going on, since Horde was hanging back on D and slaughtering the people trying to take Drek out with 0 towers down. (Sigh.) It ended up being about a 15-minute massive 25-on-25 battle, which Allies won on reinforcements. Hellacious fun. Best part was a Horde rogue trying to stealth across the bridge of death, with 3 separate hunter flares going. Quite the humorous (and quick) death. |
