am i the only person who has seen/used both kinds of dryers [ ones with lights and ones without ]??

for the record the one i own now does not have a light in it (came with the house and works fine), but i also have a lot of daylight and overhead light in the laundry room.

Nope! I've seen both. For the record, my old Maytag doesn't have a light, either, but IIRC it was available as an option.

I demand proof to the people claiming there's no light! Pics for proof.

I looked at my dad's Maytag today and it has NO light.

Now I've seen one.

No light in my 1989 Whirlpool electric dryer.

I've never seen a home dryer WITH a light bulb ! Maybe GE is the only brand that has a lightbulb? I've always had Maytag and none of them have ever had a lightbulb inside.

I'm not surprised that your dryer doesn't have one. It probably didn't calculate.

But sometimes it's nice to say the heck with it. I think my dryers use night light bulbs. Doesn't really cost very much to use!

Wow..
Okay finally located replacement bulbs and still not working.

I guess it's time to crawl up into the dryer and see if there is any corrosion on the socket, unfortunately my light is above the dryer door in that lip, so I'm going to have to lie down with my head in the dryer or try to use video recording on my phone and see if I cannot SEE what the issue might be.

Thanks guys.

Went downstairs, opened dryer door...stuck head inside dryer...nope no lightbulb at all !

I recently checked out a dryer at a laundrymat and it didn't have a bulb in it either, so I put one in but after a couple of spins the bulb shattered, as such I guess having a bulb in a dryer is probably not such a good idea after all.
