| USG200 IP address problem HI,
I am trying to convert my Dish 722 sat receiver to wireless. The problem I am having is that while the USG200 has a 192.168.1.1 IP, the Rosewill RNX-EasyN4 router repeater has an address of 192.168.0.1.
There does not seem to be a way to change the repeater IP that I can find so can I change the USG200 to the address required to use the repeater?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
All the best,

In other words setup the LANIP of the zyxel router for that lAN to be different.
Not sure, Ive never had a router lanip that was not x.1 ?? |

| That's about it. If I configure the repeater with an address e.g. of 192.168.10 or even leave it as its default simply changing the security level to match the ZyXEL then the ZyXEL will not see the wireless repeater. I can show this by going into the Dish DVR and it shows no internet connection. Of course, if I hook the DVR to Ethernet then it instantly shows a connection and I do not even have to get it to check for a connection as it simply does an auto-DHCP discovery.
So I need to have an IP address that will place both the USG200 and the repeater so that they 'see' each other.
If you need any clarification, let me know. My back pain due to severe spinal arthritis is rather high today and I may be even less coherent than usual.

Very sorry to read that you suffer from spinal arthritis -- THAT is a real PAIN. |

| Thanks for the kind words. I am using a 75ug (micrograms) transdermal fentanyl patch to handle most of the pain. Depending on the research studies available, fentanyl is 300-1000 times stronger than morphine so that gives one an idea of the sort of pain I get every day.

In addition to the OA, I also get pain due to some congenital neurological problems which put pressure on the brain stem and spinal cord nerves even though I had neurosurgery to try and alleviate the situation so it does get interesting every so often.
I will try to change the Rosewill repeater as you suggested. Thanks for the info.

You can do this in multiple ways.
1) Change USG 200 LAN1 to 192.168.0.x
2) Keep USG LAN at 192.168.1.x and add LAN2 as 192.168.0.x and configure static routes between the LAN1 and LAN2
3) Keep USG LAN and configure IP alias for 192.168.0.x
4) Use VLANs if you have VLAN capable switch
I'd say option 1) is the easiest, just change USG's IP to something else let's say 192.168.0.254 and you're done. Make sure DHCP won't include 192.168.0.1 to prevent possible IP conflict. |

I'll post back with the results.
