Ya I don't play the priest much and I'm trying to get it's profs upto being close to where they should be for the level, so I can herb and mix herbs as I go (don't really want to have an epic amount of backtracking later.)

Gains posted : yeah i'm around 14.5k achievement points and my buddy is around just about to break 15k. i meant ~80 different achievements left, a short list. something like 19 dungeon and raid ones, 1 world event, and 60 pvp (mostly arena and rbgs).

We got herald this weekend. I'll be doing it one more time in on the 28th. It'll be probably my last one I'll do. I heard this weekend that it'll be removed or fixed in 5.0. If someone would confirm this, that'd be cool.

It was quite refreshing to raid somthing CHALLENGING other than ds. It definately felt old school. The mechanics came back into play. Very Fun.

Wish with some of this OLD school stuff they'd have left it be and left it in-game. There are many examples. Like if you wanted to do "Immortal", you just have to get a group of 25 80's together... no gear/consumables/echants/gems high than ICC/RS and do it. You know... they could leave some options on the table... instead of just taking them away. Cause to be honest... I'm running out of things to do.... only got like ~80 achieves left.... ~50 of them are pvp.

you should be able to do it in the best gear available in the raid (ie the best 25 gear in 25 or the best 10 gear in 10) plus I guess dungeon gear

though I do think using gear from dungeons that weren't in WoW during Uld and using gems not available at that time is kinda cheating.

IMO you should be limited to HoS, HoL and Uld gear, and LK enchants, only gems that were available in T8, and only LK flasks.

but I guess with the talent changed since then some fuzzyness could be ok.

Gains posted : Yeah, that's pretty much how you do it. I ran 4 full ULD25 META clears last week. Had like 15 85's for each one. I did it once on my 80 toon and then again for other friends that are doing herald with me on my 85 alts. Loot rules were 80>85. You'll pretty much be geared enough in 1 uld25 run. The HM gear really doesn't matter though it's 239.... but it's WAY easier to find a group of 85's for the mount meta.

Gains posted : Wotlk epic gems and enchants only. Cata flasks or battle/guardian elixirs and Cata foods are a loop hole... and the changes between wotlk and Cata feel like a loop hole. some profession bonuses are loop holes. (if it's fungi and not funguses why isn't it boni?)

It's still pretty hard. We did give it about ~25 tries. I know this because I started with a stack of master elixirs, deepearth elixirs, and mastery food. Then when I ran out and we tried a few more times, however, by that time I had decided that we needed to gear the one other healer. So this week we should have it easy.

Gains posted : OK. First attempt @ it this Saturday. Lowest we got alg to was 4%. We had maybe 3 toons well geared/enchanted/buffed with consumables, 6 toons medium geared/some enchants/some buffs, and 1 toon (healer) with shit gear, and just some consumable buffs. (he just hit 80 day before, no epics. ~170 ilvl)

I'm running same group this Saturday should get it everyone will be better geared.

some thoughts... TOC5 was not easily duo'able. maybe with 3 but that stupid mounted battle in the begining before the 3 champions keep me from farming my black heart yesterday. Any way to work around that?

when randoming into heroic occulus at 80? Does the blue drake mount still drop inside the bag? Nice little JP bonus in H OCC in that bag that's for sure.

Also, I'm thinking it be cool if we screen shot this feat and post it here to end this thread.

What's with the *sigh* and "quotation"?

I never questioned why or how we were getting the 239 gear, I knew it was because we did it on 'hardmode'. I also never called it 'heroic', I'm assuming that's why 'hardmode' has the quotations.

I simply asked, "Does getting a piece of 239 take the spot of some other gear that could be 226 or 232, which would make it worse to gear doing 'hardmode' vs non-'hardmode'

or...

Is it an additional item added along with the 226/232 gear that we get doing uld25.

My guess was that it's an addition, at least that's what I was claiming when my friend was buggin' me. I was saying that it doesn't hurt us gearing up. So... I basically still don't have an answer.

Gains posted : It's all good. Six beers, ~2 hours, and Full ULD25 Clear later, we are significantly more geared. We also did all of the mount meta except the ones that the group messed up on (vez someone killed a vapor and razor ninja pulled/downed). Some of the 85's we had coming just went rampant and I was always afraid that the boss would be pulled before I got to it. Loot rules were stated as HERALD>TMOG>VENDOR. It was an ok run, if not a little frustrating. I couldn't master loot fast enough to keep up... I ended up missing two bosses because I was at the old boss master looting (missed razor and freya). That was frustrating but we had a dk tank to get the tank loots and a holy pally to get the tier on those bosses so it wasn't a waste but it set me personally back on gearing. I'm not even sure 25 hm is the best way to go? You'll end up getting like 5 loots but one of them is 239.

So...I think this week's ULD10 HM run will be on Thursday @ 8:00 EST. Everyone is welcome to come again.

Does anyone know if doing the HM reduces the amount of 226/232 gear your get in 25 man? OR Does it just add an additional 239 piece?

Ideally, I'd just doing ULD25 full clear no hard modes and then do YOGG/ALG on 10. However, it's considerably easier to put together a mount run. I also, reserved all legendary fragment pieces to be open roll just for the 85's that came to help to boost recruiting.

Thanks to all 80's that came. I think we had 6 maybe 7 by the end of the night. It's ok if you couldn't make it. I know, one of the guys that was going to come instead had a guild raid make-up raid and got h mad and his meta instead of coming to ulduar... i mean priorties bud... ULD25 HM>all.

getting gear that you actually need is another issue, entirely, lol. My guild was helping my 80 shaman and wife's 80 priest through several times... I cannot tell you how much leather dropped. I can say that only 1 agi mail dropped... but I do have a couple of INT mail drops for my resto OS... /sigh.

Our first gear run is tonight in uld25. If you don't have your toon to 80 yet... you'll welcome to come on your 85 and gear out the rest of us. Our gear run in Uld25 will be like 8:00 EST.

It is easy to farm up 219 gear from pit, fos, and hos. You can also find your 232 weapon in there. I farmed up my 232 tank weapon, this weekend. Along with 4 pieces of 219 and then enough justice to get the two 226 tier pieces (head and chest) along with two other 226 pieces (sigil and neck). So as a tank i'm about half geared without running ULD yet. With not alot of work ~5 hours over the weekend. Justice Points at first were kinda tricky to get on an 80. You'll get to do random normal cata dungeons 7 times a week for 140(~150 with guild perks) justice. That'll get u 2 pieces. Then random LK Heroics are about 100~ justice a run. They go pretty fast. ~15 mins each. You'll need a tank to farm JP in heroic wotlk dungeons. Get a hold of me and i'll run a you guys.

I ask because we are using Cata talents and the current abilities are "balanced" based on Cata not Wrath. So, why should the answer as to which spec is best be any different for a a lvl 80 Cata 5-man, than for a lvl 80 Wrath 5-man?

Edit--- I ended up going combat. Probably the easiest rotation I've played yet in wow, although still fun. I did some 5 mans last night with Gains (a lot of fun) but my dps was only 2-2.3k where as the DK's and prot pally were pulling 4-5k. Shit was dying before I could use any combo points, so I'm sure that didn't help.
