Any idea which way they're heading? Wondering if I should be waiting for the tree outside my unit to come flying through my window

One thing I love about Fort Erie is that when the weather gets real hot, it gets very windy due to the convection near the lake. Trees are moving back and forth, flags are whipping around, yet you feel like you're in a convention oven. The wind itself brings relief, but it is by no means a cool breeze.

My contribution to weather observation today was to stick my nose out the patio door, canine-like, and then close it again fast!

Sounds about the same for me. Though my mint and strawberries seem to be loving the heat.

It's 28C here (with a humidex of 37) but it didn't seem to be that bad when I was out for a bike ride earlier in the afternoon. Warm, yes, but not oppressively hot or unbearable as long as I was on the move (stoplights weren't all that much fun). Perhaps the people who find it really bad are the people who's entire life is climate controlled (AC in house, AC in car, AC in office, etc), who dress in black and man-made fibers even in the summer time, and then complain about the heat while waiting for a bus or while getting a bite to eat at lunch time.

The forecast for tomorrow is ugly though (high of 35C, with a humidex likely in the 40s).

It looked totally nasty scary like here in Lindsay around 5ish and then nothing happened.

Might happen later, but I am used to weather ignoring my town.

Went for walk this morning and it was just regular hot and muggy. But this afternoon it was holy crap hot and muggy. Seems to have suddenly cooled down, but I am not falling for her tricks (mother nature). I know it will be juuuuuuust crappy tomorrow too.

Getting down what needs to be done outside tomorrow and getting inside pronto.

Ugh, 26 outside here, 33 with humidex. It's 30 in my apartment, does that mean it's 37 with humidex? It's basically like this every day, since my apartment is pretty much constantly 30 for the past week or two, and usually about that for the past month or two...

Today I was tempted to buy a portable AC for $600 and put it next to my disabled through-wall AC just to get relief. Then sell it when the building management finally stops torturing their tenants and re-enables the AC. It's driving me nuts, I can't even think straight in here.

They claim they'll re-enable them before the end of the month. They better...

I'd be putting in a claim for a rent reduction / condo fee reduction for every month that it is off and you'd like to be using it if I were in your place, as you rented/bought based on the building being air conditioned and it isn't. I hope it gets re-enabled soon.

How about a redneck air conditioner for a few days? You could use a few bags of ice, put in zip lock bags to avoid even more moisture in the air, and that way you aren't creating a ton of heat by having your fridge work overtime to freeze the contents of the cooler.

The women can wear skirts, so you should be able to be comfortable and let the wedding tackle 'breathe' as well.

I checked my lease, there's unfortunately no mention of AC in it, so I'm not sure I can do much. I went down this morning and complained that it was a health hazard; it was 38 with humidex in my apartment last night, and it's going to get several degrees warmer later this week... I might buy a portable AC to use for a few weeks before selling it to a friend who is looking to buy one.

One of my friends actually built one of those once... Unfortunately, I don't have the requisite parts, like tubing or a pump, although I could buy them I'm sure.
