June 18, 2012, 2:46 PM A leading security researcher has suggested Microsoft's core Windows and application development programming teams have been infiltrated by covert programmer/operatives from U.S. intelligence agencies.
I'm only actually surprised that someone in our intelligence services might have actually thought that plan up early enough to recruit the employees/get the moles in place. That shows more forethought that I would have expected.
I would hope that Microsoft would have some system in place to prevent or monitor for outside use of their code, not to mention vet their personnel better than a mere online security check, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone has been co-opted. Someone that I worked with and thought
I knew well was arrested and convicted in the federal agency we both worked at, for running a fake Social Security card ring. I no longer presume that any business or agency's employees are all lily-white now.
